Hi all. I am interviewing for the post masters certificate to psych NP at Stonybrook on Jan 27th. Trying to find others in the same track as mine. Any info on the program, interview, acceptance, difficulty of the courses for a full time working nurse, fees etc will be much appreciated!
Congrats to all! I am not sure...you might want to check with them...I did see that we will meet with an advisor during orientation...which BTW, I found out that we will get more info on towards the end of the week. I am sure you could find a health assessment course to take...possibly test out of? You might want to check into Excelsior College and Empire State College.
Hi all. I know this is an older thread, however, I'm hoping you will be notified and can answer.
SBU is, and always has been my top choice school. I became a nurse with the intention of becoming a PMHNP and attending SBU's program.
I 'interviewed' yesterday. There were 9 of us. We were asked to write an essay, then watched a slide show, which is ironically shown at orientation, then we talked. We were only asked one question. I am feeling disappointed as I love interviewing, but felt as if I didn't have much of an opportunity to show my personality.
My question is, if you don't mind sharing, what were your STAT'S going in?.. such as GPA, letter's of recommendation. How did you feel after interview? Did you try to talk to any of the professors afterward? Did you follow up with a thank you?
Thank you in advance for any information you could provide. I'm extremely nervous about acceptance and will now have to wait what probably will feel like forever.

Congrats everyone. I am worried now. I have an international masters degree and our health assessment was integrated into every specialty course. In my application i put in that i will be completing a course in health assessment. Now i dont know how to deal with this. They have given me a conditional acceptance provided I submit documentation on completing the course. Any suggestions?
