Hi all. I am interviewing for the post masters certificate to psych NP at Stonybrook on Jan 27th. Trying to find others in the same track as mine. Any info on the program, interview, acceptance, difficulty of the courses for a full time working nurse, fees etc will be much appreciated!

Hi! I am also interviewing for the post masters psych program at Stony Brook! My interview is Feb 1st. Excited and a little nervous...not sure what to expect. I did not have to have an interview for my FNP program (another college). I'm coming down from upstate NY...looks like about a 4 or 4.5 hour drive. Glad to find some others who are interviewing...I guess getting the email for the interview is the first step!
Take care and Good Luck!

Interviews for NP program candidates is a new thing as they have more and more candidates. I heard its going to be a group interview. So more like a discussion and general questions. I am from upstate too. But 8 hours drive for me! Will keep you posted after the interview.
Ten am. And you?
11 am!
Cool. Good luck
Thanks! You've got a really long drive. Hope it goes well for you! Should be interesting as a group interview...Good luck and look forward to hearing about it!
Good luck!
Interview went great. It was Dr. Sprung and another professor. They gave a good explanation about the program. There were 3 other candidates at the same time as me and it was a group interview as expected. Asked me why psych, why Stonybrook and more about my experience. Very friendly and open atmosphere. Might take almost a month to hear back from them as they need to present their candidates in front of an admissions committee and stuff. At the end they asked us to type an essay on a mental health topic they gave you. Good experience overall. Anyone else that completed the interview want to share their experience? Much appreciated!
