I'm interested in applying to the APNI program at SU. I've been reading a lot of the forums from other years, and have found it's quite competitive! I would love to hear from other people, and their track. Or if someone is in the program and has any advice about what they like in an applicant. Thank you!

Did you interview?? My understanding was that people who interviewed were at least put on the waitlist

I was also offered admission to the PMHNP track yesterday after my interview on Friday. I am beyond excited. I can't wait to meet everyone. I know people who were accepted from the waitlist, so don't give up hope.

@DrTango Did your offer include any scholarship or financial information? I'm interviewing late and had to put down a deposit at another school. IF I get accepted it unfortunately comes down to tuition/cost of living. Thanks for any information!!!!

Not much info - I know the program costs about $142K...hope that helps!

"Tuition for the 2018-2019 academic year is $800 per credit, so the tuition cost is approximately $120,800 -

$156,000 for 151-195 credits. Listed below are the approximate additional nursing fees/expenses for this

program. This is not a complete list of expenses.

Books: $5000

Notebook Computer: $1200

Smartphone: $250

Software: $200

Uniforms/Lab Coat: $150

Stethoscope: $150

Program Fees: $512/quarterly APNI year only, $260/quarterly, remaining years (2-4)

Heath Insurance: Variable

Immunizations: $150+ (Variable)

Liability Insurance (after 1st Year): $300-$600

WA RN License: $250"

I went to talk to a financial aid advisor at the SU, and she said the max/year you get from federal unsubsidized loans is $20,500. After this you can apply for a federal graduate plus loan. This has a higher interest rate, but typically you get are offered enough to cover your tuition and not more. There are private loans as well. She said she does not believe there are scholarships offered through the department, but to double check.

Has anyone heard anything from the FNP track? New interviews or anything?

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to this forum but I've been following along the posting for updates about SU APNI program.

I remember reading a post about how SU have two waitlists. One of applicants they have interviewed and one of applicants they did not interview. Someone mentioned there are 10 spots available for the midwifery specialty and that they interviewed 25 applicants for those spots.

I am waitlisted for the CNM specialty but did not have an interview. I can assume there is a very low chance I would get an interview since there are 15 applicants that are waitlisted that had an interview? I believe I was told that accepted candidates have till April 1st to make deposit. Does anyone know how many spots there are in each specialty?

Hi! I recently got waitlisted for the APNI PMHNP track. Is anyone else in the same position and know more information about being waitlisted for this track? I called the nursing department but they weren't able to give me any information, but they did say that the waitlist for this track is the smallest compared to the other tracks. Also, has anyone gotten waitlisted for this track and gotten an interview/got accepted? Any information that will help me figure out timeline of things would be very helpful! Please and thank you :)

I was accepted to the PMHNP track late last week. Unfortunately, you don't hear about any scholarship information until after you start the program - which makes it tough to make financial decisions. I will need to make a decision by April 1 or 2. Whether or not I accept will depend on whether or not I hear from a third party scholarship by then.
