Hey all, I would love to hear recommendations for an online program for MSN in education. So far I'm looking at Jacksonville University, Ball State, Duke ($$$), and University of Texas at Tyler -- which is probably my favorite so far.

Thoughts?

I earned my MSN Ed at and was accepted into three different doctoral programs. The price was right, the rigor was there, and the flexibility and mentoring were key to my success.

Thanks, MMJ. I did look into as I know several nurses who are completing degrees through them. For me, the pass/fail and every class is worth 3.0 on transcript -- those things are enough to make me feel like it isn't the right program for me -- I don't want my GPA lowered. The program looks good and it seems like students get lots of support. And the price, yes -- great price. It is good to hear you had no problem getting accepted for your doctorate, though.

I went to Chamberlain for my MSN in Education and graduated last Feb.My organization paid for my entire degree. Great program, and I recently secured a position in their residency program for new graduates of the MSN in Education to be an online visiting professor. I teach a BSN class online with a mentor watching over me and love it!

Greetings! I start the MSNEd. program in July. Do you know if this residency program is still in effect? Admissions advisors seem to know nothing about it. I can do my practicum with the director of my initial ADN program, who also teaches online for CCN RN-BSN program. I was hoping that, coupled with the potential for online mentorship after graduation, would help me to secure a spot at CCN after I graduate. TIA!

Eli,

It is still in effect, but don't know if it will be by the time you graduate. It is by word of mouth the residency program.

Is the residency program still in effect? How do you ask to join if it is by word of mouth?

I would ask your professor during your final class or contact the dean for the education track to find out more. It really depends if they have mentors who are available and if your nursing experience matches a class that has openings for online visiting professors. You will also need a letter of recommendation from one of your professors. Graduating from Chamberlain does not guarantee a space in the residency, but it is definitely awesome if you can get in! I will be done with the residency after December.

I am currently contemplating going for the Post-Grad certificate in education at Chamberlain. For those of you who completed the MSN-Ed from Chamberlain. Can you please confirm if there was or there is any course that required a physical classroom and which course required any videos presentation.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Esther, I graduated 2 years ago in the MSN in Ed at Chamberlain. I never physically had to be in a classroom and did not have to do any video presentation. That could have changed. Hope this helps!
