Hi all,

I have a few questions about EC practice exams:

Note: I am not trying to be noisy and try to find out people grades. I'm just trying to figure out how ready am I to test if I'm scoring 68-75 on the practice test. Also better strategies to improve my scores.TIA

1. Did you study any before taking the first test

form A or did you take the exam first then

studied and finally took Form B?

2. What kind of Grades were you getting on the test?

3. If you got a low grade on the practice exams,

what was your strategy to improve in that are?

4. What was your final grade on your real exam?

Hi all~

1.I didn't study at all before I took form A for Micro and then I setup my study schedule to brush up on my weak areas. I then studied for a week and took Mirco form B 3 days before my actual exam date to see if my studying paid off. I just took Essentials of Nursing Health and Safety form A today and I plan and using the same strategy as I did for micro.

2.I scored 62(form A) and 75 (form b) for micro. Essentials of Nursing Health and Safety 87 (form a).

3. I used the outline from the Excelsior micro study guide to base my studies on and I haven't started studying for Essentials yet (just took the practice test today).

4.A in Micro and I'm scheduled to take Essentials:Health and Safety 2/2.

That's Great!!!

Hey guys, I am a new EC student and haven't taken an exam yet. I was wondering where you are finding these practice exams. I was also wondering about the scoring of them. I have the EC study guide although I am not sure I find it very helpful. Any input would be greatly appreciated on what to expect.

I signed up to take health safety (2/9). After I signed up to take the exam. It enabled me to get the practice exams.

These practice exams are through EC. You can only register for them when you've paid for the actual exam. They're $60, but for that $60 you actually get two tests for each subject, one called "Form A" and and the other "Form B" (I have no clue why they're called that, but it's the same for all the tests). You have to take Form A before Form B. Each test has 100 questions and you have two hours to complete it (and you do have to do that in one sitting -- you can't close it and come back to it another time). At the end of the exam after you submit your test, it gives you all the answers, plus the rationales for both the right and wrong answers. They are great study tools. Some of the questions on the actual exam are very similar to the practice tests, and they also tell you which area of study the questions are from, so if you find that you're getting a bunch wrong in one area, you can go back and study more in that area.

They sound a little expensive until you actually use them and realize how helpful they are! :) I took practice exams for every single EC exam, and found all of them to be helpful in one way or another.

Is it at all possible to to purchase/share these practice exams? Or maybe similar practice exams are available from former EC students somewhere?

Thanks for any responses.

I'm not going to tell you that those things are not out there, but people that promote, sell or purchase that kind of information would be violating copyright law and would face disciplinary action and/or litigation from Excelsior. Most online forums don't allow discussion of such resources. No one wants to lose millions in a lawsuit - and it has happened. Best to just pay the 60 bucks and get it legally.

I got you. Thanks Eric.
