Polk State Nursing Spring 2019 Applicants

Published

Hello all,

My name is Chris and I wanted to start a forum for anyone thinking about applying for the Polk state college nursing program starting in spring 2019. I am applying with a 3.25 overall GPA and a 3.0 pre-req GPA if I am adding that correctly. I plan to take my Teas in late August! I look forward to hearing from everyone. Good luck! :)

I did not either which makes me nervous. What was your teas score if you don't mine me asking?

For Astrogo.....I had to log into Etrieve to complete the online application.

Mine was not real good. I was disappointed and almost retook it but decided to take my chances. I only got a 78 but have 116 points total. I'm hoping it's enough to get in. We'll see!

For Astrogo.....Did you find where to go to apply?

Yes I did too. Do you know how to calculate the pre req gpa? Like what all classes are considered for that?

https://www.polk.edu/nursing/associate-of-science/admissions/ . It's 5 x you're pre-req gpa plus 5 x overall gpa plus your TEAS score. You get xtra points if you have a degree

yes but what classes do they consider pre reqs. is it just the main requirements or do it use the extras you may have

I emailed Dr. Hutcherson today. We don't get confirmation emails but your status on the application website will say "ended" instead of "processing" once they have received your application.

If you click on the link and scroll down to number 5, it tells you what is considered the pre-req classes. I hope this helps.

I applied on 9/1 and got a confirmation email yesterday to my polk state college email that it was processed.

I got one today as well.
