Hello all,
My name is Chris and I wanted to start a forum for anyone thinking about applying for the Polk state college nursing program starting in spring 2019. I am applying with a 3.25 overall GPA and a 3.0 pre-req GPA if I am adding that correctly. I plan to take my Teas in late August! I look forward to hearing from everyone. Good luck! :)
Yep, that's it. I'm at a 116.85; maybe they will round me up to 117 :-)
I don't see why not! 116.85 seems pretty solid. I was reading on the Polk website they take the highest scores. So, the top 100 (5 of which are reserved for Vets). So, I feel like there is a pretty good chance you can get it.
What did you study for the Teas? I have the manual from their website and the mometrix book. You did amazing on your score! I have taken it before and know where I'm struggling. Should I just focus on those and then brush up on what I know? Thank you for offering advice I appreciate it!
I would definitely focus on the areas you're strugglig with and just brush up on what you know. That's the most efficient way to study, in my opinion. I had to really brush up on my English grammar and sentence structure and science. So, I watched all of CrashCourse (YouTube channel) A&P videos and a few chemistry and bio vids. Some of them multiple times. For the English portion, I used the ATI Smart Prep Study modules. Those are much more helpful than the book. But it's expensive. You might be better off finding something free online since the English portion is short in comparison to the other sections.
Hello everyone! My names Kaylee and I am also applying for the spring semester. I believe my points are at 114, I have a 3.2 program GPA, a 3.1 overall and an AA degree. I just took my TEAS and ended up with an 81% (english definitely held me back from getting the score I wanted... even though its my first and only language, but oh well). I hope my score is good enough to get me in, I'm not feeling very hopeful after looking at everone elses score lol but keeping my fingers crossed!
Update: I won't be applying for the spring after all. I am applying to an Accelerated BSN program instead. I wish everyone the best of luck!
I had the same issue and the office was closed yesterday. I sent my app to Dr. Hutchinson, as she is the department head. I assume they route them appropriately from there. I sent it to her because the information packet listed her as the person to contact if there were any conflicts with the mandatory meeting for accepted students and she also appears to be the most important hahaha
