Polk State College spring 2018 Nursing school

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello all,

My name is Chris and I wanted to start a forum for anyone thinking about applying for the Polk state college nursing program starting in spring 2018. I am applying with a 3.45 overall GPA and a 3.5 pre-req GPA if I am adding that correctly. I plan to take my Teas in late July and I will update you all on how that goes. I look forward to hearing from everyone. Good luck! :)

So I was supposed to take my TEAS yesterday but it was cancelled with the schools closing...so do you guys think they will extend the application due date because of all these days they are closed?

I did sit with an advisor and he told me I was all set, but I'm still worried since I've been waiting so long to apply! I would hate for my app to not even be reviewed

Also I think they should extend the deadline but honestly I'm not sure, I don't know how we would find out if they do decide to

Ann94 I was wondering the same thing í ¾í´”

They extended the application deadline until Sept 22

That's good, I think schools will be closed until at least Tuesday. How did you find out about the extension?

Hey, where did everyone go?

Did everyone get their applications in on time? And how is everyone doing after Irma? Hopefully everyone has power back by now...

An update for me: Due to some new work commitments I had to skip applying for Spring semester. It just wasn't going to work out schedule wise. Luckily for me that means I can get some of the co-requisites out of the way next semester (like microbiology) before applying for Fall. I hope everyone else gets in though. I'm really rooting for you guys!

I'm here! Got my application in on time...here's to waiting for what seems like forever. Do you guys think the decisions will be sent a week later than they anticipated because of Irma?

With all of your admissions scores being so high I am almost confident I will not be accepted. My Score is in the low 100's. I'm not quite sure how to calculate the pre-requisite GPA so I'm not 100% sure on what my final score is. Regardless, it looks like I'll be retaking my TEAS test and re-applying next semester in hopes of getting in then. Fingers crossed I can bump it up to above an 80. Good luck to you all!

I was told that they will have letters out by Oct 6th. My gpa is not the highest so I hope that my teas score and previous degree make up for hat. I was also told that more applicants than usual

Applied for the spring. That was a little discouraging to hear /: But I think we all have a good shot!

That is not great news that more applicants than usual applied. I took advantage of the extension and rewrote my teas and bumped it up 3.4, now I am glad I did. One question, I am still doing my stats at SFSC. Do they accept conditional on the math being a sufficient score? Good luck to all.
