Polk State College spring 2018 Nursing school

Published

Hello all,

My name is Chris and I wanted to start a forum for anyone thinking about applying for the Polk state college nursing program starting in spring 2018. I am applying with a 3.45 overall GPA and a 3.5 pre-req GPA if I am adding that correctly. I plan to take my Teas in late July and I will update you all on how that goes. I look forward to hearing from everyone. Good luck! :)

I got an 87.3%

Wow great score! Any studying advice?

I feel like I overstudied because the TEAS test version I got was not as hard as I had expected. Study the mometrix secrets teas book, I think that was most like the real thing and helped me tremendously.

Thanks for the advice. I'm a little anxious. I've been studying, but I feel unprepared. I basically have a week, but the feeling of not knowing whats on it is what scares me.

I felt the same way. Reading and English were the hardest For me. I am absolutely terrible at math and have not taken a math class in over 7 years yet I got almost a 90% on that section. So don't stress about math!

I've been studying this entire week for the TEAS, hoping I score an 80% or higher.

How did you do on the TEAS?

I'm hoping to take it this week. I wasn't scoring high enough on the practice test.

I'm sitting at about 109 points. I'm a little uneasy since I didn't score high on the TEAS. The cut off for Fall 2017 seemed to be 110 points, but I've noticed some people were accepted with 106 for Spring 2017. Spring typically has less applicants so I'm trying to be optimistic. I live in Orlando, but I'm willing to make the hour drive to the school to turn in the application. Has everyone calculated their points?

I have 118. I heard for fall 2017 the cut off was 112. Iv also heard that in the spring less people apply so there is a good chance they will go lower than 112. I think you have a good chance.

Hi guys and gals!

My name is also Chris. I'm taking the TEAS on Sept 6, so hopefully I rock it out the first time as I won't be able to take it again in time haha. My GPA isn't super amazing (I hated school the first time around, and it showed), but I've heard that they really look at your test score above all else when considering applicants. Would make sense considering how their point formula is weighted.

Hope everyone does well! Applications open in just a few days, so good luck!

Good luck on your TEAS Chris!
