Polk State College Fall 2020 Hopefuls

Published

Hello ? I wanted to start a thread for those applying to the fall 2020 ADN nursing program at Polk State College. I know the application period isnt open until May, but I was wondering if anyone on here was planning to apply and what your points are? Best of luck to everyone!

Even with larger applicant pools, everyone 114ish-115ish got pulled from the waitlist.

I hope so! Does anyone know how many students get accepted into the generic and how many people are alternates?

I was accepted into generic but I'm declining. I think I was at 119ish? One of you take my spot and crush it!

Are you attending a different school? And thanks for letting us know!

Got in as an alternate.

I started Rasmussen on the 6th though. I'm wondering if I could pull out this early and just go to Polk.

No, I'm requesting a delay until January, hopefully. Covid-19 went and mucked everything up for me so I'll just wait and see.

You are not even joking. I’m waiting for COVID results as we speak. I’m hoping I have enough time to quarantine before all of this starts. (If I get in) and hopefully I don’t get extremely sick.

Asking for my niece, does anyone know where the current clinical sites are located? It says in Lakeland, Tampa, and Winter Haven but we were wondering names of facilities. thanks!

CONGRATS are in order for your niece! The following are definite: Lakeland Regional, Winter Haven Hospital-Bay Care, Bartow Regional - Bay Care

...and most likely Heart of FL (Bay Care) in Haines City and Adventhealth Lake Wales

And I believe AdventHealth Wauchula and Sebring as well

I can't wait to see our options for clinical days/times. I'm hoping for an evening or weekend clinical.

I wonder how they are going to do clinical’s. I didn’t realize we were allowed in hospitals.

Will classes start 08/17?
