PNAP to sign with PA-NHP?

Published

I am in the last year with PNAP for a DUI I received in 2021.  I have one more year and have done very will with the program.  No violations thus far.  I received letters, one from PHMP and one from PNAP.  By my understanding, PNAP will be out and PA will be handling the "remainder" of my case.  The problem I have is "This program utilizes a 5-year agreement", and says I will stick to what I have.  PNAP  sends a letter with lawyer's names.  I'm confused.  What choices if any do I have?  Thanks

Sorry for the confusion the new will be PA-NHP.  Foundation of Pennsylvania Medical Society--Nurse's Health Program.

I got the same letter. I have two years left in my agreement. To my understanding, we are grandfathered into our original agreement and the new people will just be taking over for PNAP.

The letter from pnap was kind of odd when they said not to take it lightly and mentioned lawyers. One of the lawyers they mentioned was who I actually used when I signed with PNAP originally. I'm gonna call him and get his take on the whole thing.

I am at loss. First, they told me that in April of 2024 I can petition to reinstate my license in full. Does it still stand? Also, they told me I still owe them $600 "for their services".

Now they have asked me to sign a bunch of record release authorization. Should I do that? I do not want to sign 5 years contract with yet another company. What will they do if I refuse to sign that contract?

Please share your thoughts.

Has anyone actually received anything from NHP yet?? PHMP and PNAP keep saying PNAP is over as of January 1st and I have yet to receive anything from NHP. Why are they being last minute with this ?

Hi PNAP nurses,
I, too, got the emails and got the transfer of records attachment on Tuesday.  Is it me or does it strike you as curious that the transfer is to "PHMP", not to "NHP".  I am so confused.  Since I am not working right now, I am not going to sign anything and see what happens (not working due to personal medical illness and house hold duties).

It's all very confusing and they are being very unclear...so, if they wanted to transfer, legally they should transfer and we'd all be notified with actual paperwork in the mail (like when we got into pnap) and had a date to have the signed papers back by...actually we may not even have to sign anything if it was all taken care of LEGALLY on their end.  It would be like someone buying a Mc Donald's franchise from another person, they don't deal different products, it's the same, someone new just owns that franchise, right?

And, to send it now, over the holidays...very suspicious.

What are y'all doing?  This attorney (please do not name names per TOS) who is very critical of PNAP did publish something on their linked in page.  I don't fully understand it though...too much legal jargon.  I am going to email him and also email all of the people who send me info from the PHMP, PNAP with my questions.  Why can't they answer our questions, we pay yearly dues, right????  Totally makes my hair stand up in rage against this agency for taking advantage of us in this way.  I am happy to report back to yall and let you know what happens bc I won't sign it or reply.

Specializes in Veterinarian. Have questions about the vrp.

Hi all! Actually a veterinarian but this is the only place I've seen this post as far as forums. In the PHMP and my time coming to an end in about 6 months. Was curious about the exit process and what to expect!

Specializes in long-term-care, LTAC, PCU.

Here's what I can tell you about the PA-NHP. Don't mess up. They are no PNAP.  I had a recent issue. I did not use any mood or mind altering substance, and have been clean for almost 5 years. I am active in the recovery community. I'll admit I've become a little complacent but I'm getting back on track with the help of my sponsor and my people.

So anyway I had a recent issue. I am told by the NHP I have to go to inpatient rehab! They only inpatient rehabs they approve are in GA, NC, FL, AL and one on the eastern part of the state. 5 hours away from me. That's it.

But remember, I didn't even pick up a drink or a drug... it was a behavior that I'm in trouble for. I have had several UDS this month to prove that I'm clean. I have a plan with my sponsor and I'm not refusing treatment, I'm just refusing inpatient.  I'm going to lose my license because I won't go inpatient.

I thought about getting a lawyer but I can't afford one. Just know NHP is not our advocate like PNAP was. Don't mess up. I'm not trying to scare you but just warn you.

Can I ask why they want you to go to rehab?

That's insane!! I actually ended up transferring my monitoring to NJ RAMP since nj is my primary state. I'm glad I did. It's actually not as bad as I thought

Anyone know if they have restrictions like PNAP did? Such as not being able to do home health or travle
