I am going to make a long story short. I graduated in 1999 with my LPN and passed boards on 1st try. I immediately started RN school and graduated in 2001. I have taken the NCLEX RN 3-4 times and have failed. On the paper they sent me in the mail I was almost on the line of passing and there was no particular area I needed help in. I worked as an LPN until 2008. Married in 2004, child in 2006 and twins in 2008. I then quit work to raise my kids. I am now and am haunted on a regular basis about the fact that I haven't passed my boards. It eats at me and I feel like a FAILURE!!!!!!! A friend just graduated RN and passed her boards and let me take one of the ATI comprehensive tests, not the predictor and I got 77%. I have no idea how to prepare or if I should even persue the dream of becoming an RN. I mean afterall that is all that is between me and my RN is a freaking test. Does anyone have any insight on the 77% or any advice at all???????????????
THANKS!!!
@APerry5675: congrats! you deserve it! :)
posts here are very inspiring. count me in, i graduated 8 years ago and it seems like im having a hard time focusing now when im reading. thanks for sharing your experiences i feel inspired now and i will do my best next time. i actually took the NCLEX-RN last march 15 (i know in my heart that i didnt prepare and study well) but got the cc page at pearson vue trick so now even if i havent receive the official result (california BON) i accepted it and im not expecting to pass. right now im studying again. my review materials are SAUNDERS comprehensive and saunders q&a, kaplan book 2012-2013. i plan to take it again by june or july 2013. i hope to pass this time. GOODLUCK to all of us!
I used my iPhone actually. The apps I used was ATI app, and NCLEX QB, I really like the QB one because it has like 250+ alternative format questions. I am not a sit down and read kind of study-er so doing the questions and reading the rationales was mainly what I did and if there was anything I needed more info on I used Saunders. NCSBN is great also and not so expensive! Main thing was a lot of prayer for concentration and focus and really wanting it BAD!!! I feel on top of the world and you guys can too!! Best of Luck to you all!!!

One more thing, the test was very hard I thought. I just used process of elimination. I really thought I failed, called everyone and told them I did!! I cried on the way there and as soon as I walked out the door I lost it knowing I had failed. I did 101 questions and couldn't remember one question on the test, then started thinking about things and remembering some of them. I had 2 EKG questions, several med questions, a lot of priority and delegation, like 10 or 12 SATA, and 2 drag and drop, no calculations, 1 exhibit, 1 hot spot. It took me 3 hours but that was more praying than answering questions!
