Please don't judge....it's been 13 years since graduated RN and debating the NCLEX
I am a stay at home mom and since summer is right around the corner, I know that I won't have anytime to myself to study. I would like to start studying now, but full force in August and hope to take before the end of the year. Are you taking yours soon?

That is so AWESOME! How many questions did you have? What apps did you use? I don't have an ipad but maybe I could find them on my laptop. Did you think it was harder than you expected? CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!

2001 Graduate, when do I start to study and how???
Thanks! No worries, I will NEVER let my license expire whether it is LPN or RN :). I do have the Saunders Q and A 2nd ed., Saunders NCLEX RN 3rd ed., Mosby's 16th and La Charity PDA. I also have access to ATI.

I guess I am just wondering when and how to start studying for this beast! Also, I am not sure I can spend 8 hours a day studying in the fall, just seems like alot. Thoughts?

2001 Graduate, when do I start to study and how???
I posted a few days ago about my story. I graduated in 2001 from RN....have worked as an LPN from 1999-2008 (when I had my twins I started staying hoome). I am married and have 3 kids (6 year old and 5 year old twins). I am a stay at home mom. I know that I am lacking in content for sure. I think Hurst online would be a great asset to me. I am not the type of person that can sit down and read a book and "get it". I am more hands on or visual. Right now I have 2 1/2 hours to myself in the morning then have to get my twins from school. In the fall I will have all 3 kids in school all day. I really would like to start studying now, but not sure I should purchase Hurst since I only have access for 3 months. Just feel like I have alot going on with kids that need their mommy and summer coming up. My LPN license expires in November so not sure if I should shoot to have it taken by then and really start focusing in Sept. when the kids are back in school. ANY tips or anything helpful would be greatly appreciated!!!!

NCLEX 3500 keeps saying service unavailable
I have been doing questions on NCLEX 3500 and last night I did 8-10 and the computer screen turned white and said service unavailable. So I started again and it kept doing it. I was irritated becuase I have no idea if I got any of the questions right or wrong. Now tonight it did it again. Is anyone else having this problem?

Every state is different. I live in Iowa and that is not the case here.

Well if you work FT and have 4 boys and can do it, SO CAN I! You girls are getting me pumped. I am not going to set a time in my mind until I start doing some practice questions and get a feel for it. My 3 kids will all be in school all day this fall so there will be no excuse to finish up and get really confident by then. You girls are so encouraging!!!!! I really think I have test anxiety especially with the test set-up and my past failed attempts. A little ativan might help :)

I agree APerry...it seems so huge to me. I now have MAJOR anxiety about it. I hate the fact that once I hit 75 questions, that I have no idea when it will shut off. Freaks me out when another one pops up. I too am not a sit down and study person. The thing I don't like about ATI is that sometimes I have 2 answers and if I pick the right one the rationale explains it, but I would also like to know why the others aren't right, which they don't tell you. I have 3 kids ages 6 and 5 and just find it hard to fit studying in. How long have you been studying and for how long each day. I think I need to get in the mindset and just do it!!!!!!

Please don't judge....it's been 13 years since graduated RN and debating the NCLEX
I am going to make a long story short. I graduated in 1999 with my LPN and passed boards on 1st try. I immediately started RN school and graduated in 2001. I have taken the NCLEX RN 3-4 times and have failed. On the paper they sent me in the mail I was almost on the line of passing and there was no particular area I needed help in. I worked as an LPN until 2008. Married in 2004, child in 2006 and twins in 2008. I then quit work to raise my kids. I am now and am haunted on a regular basis about the fact that I haven't passed my boards. It eats at me and I feel like a FAILURE!!!!!!! A friend just graduated RN and passed her boards and let me take one of the ATI comprehensive tests, not the predictor and I got 77%. I have no idea how to prepare or if I should even persue the dream of becoming an RN. I mean afterall that is all that is between me and my RN is a freaking test. Does anyone have any insight on the 77% or any advice at all??????????????? THANKS!!!
