Hi To You Successful People Out There, I Know It Takes Hard Work And No Bull Sh**ing To Get Where You Are Right Now, God Bless You All. I Have A Major Problem, From Since The Age Of Ten I Always Wanted To Be A Nurse, But It Was Held Back When I Became A Teenage Mom. Now Twelve Years Later, I Have Decided To Obtain My Ged And Return Back To School To Pursue My Nursing. It Started Out So Well For Me In That As Soon As I Apply To Kingsborough Community College In Brooklyn, I Was Accepted Into The Pre Clinical Phase Of Nursing, Now One Year Later, I Had Finished My Pre-clinicals And I Had Pass The National League For Nursing Pre-entrance Exam. But My School Had Send Me A Letter Stating That Spaces For The Clinical Is Unfortunately Filled Up And I Did Not Get In. I Am Worried, What To Do, I Don't Know. I Am Thinking About Transfering To Queensborough Community College, But Can Someone Tell Me How Is Their Program? I Am So Dissapointed In My School. Is There Any Graduate Or Past Student From My Current And Also My Prospective School, Who Can Share Some Insight Into These Schools Programs For Me. How Is The Rating For Queenborough College, Is It Good, How Many People Do They Take In Their Nursing Program? I Know That My Current School Programm Is Very Hard, Is It The Same Way In Qcc. Thanks For You All Great Help, God Bless You All.

Kayla - so sorry that you didn't get into the school you wanted to. However, don't give up. You've come a long ways by getting your GED and getting into college. Can you take some more pre-reqs or are you finished? Perhaps change to a BSN program? Good luck...hang in there.

Kayla please don't get discouraged. There may be an opening due to someone dropping out. Meanwhile check some of these schools to see who might be close enough for you to transfer. It took me 12 years from HS graduation to Nursing graduation. It's hard but it is "do-able."

Honey, don't even get depressed over this: I've seen this happen to MANY of my brilliant classmates who have been waiting a LONG time to get into nursing school. One of them, a man who is much older than you, got so frustrated and just gave up and decided to stick with his old but very well-paying job as a security guard. Don't even worry about it and don't tire yourself out getting frustrated with yourself or the system. Its happening to A LOT of people who have put in a lot of work and hope. The universe tends to unfold as it should. : )
Can't give you any insight on to schools. Sorry.

Do NOT give up. The old saying, "When a door closes, a window often opens", is true. I was turned down the first time I applied to school. Very discouraging. But I re-applied the next year, and got in, and 7 years later, no regrets. It will take moxie and real persistence to get that nursing degree and even MORE to be a nurse one day. DO NOT give up too easily! Go to that site listing nursing schools, make some calls, and find out what it takes to gain entry. Make sure you get ALL your pre-requisite courses done FIRST then apply. Your chances go up ENORMOUSLY when you do that. Good luck and hang in there!
