Were your entrance test's scores and GPA good? That's what the school will base most of their decision on. I went to a similar university and they based it on GPA alone. Call the university and ask them what is going to be the deciding factor for admission with the eligible nursing students.
As for the $200; pay it. That way if for whatever reason you don't get into Washington you'll have a program to go to.
I never went to the University of Washington but I know the area and it is lovely and the people are great. Good luck to you.
I am just having so much trouble getting around the $200 and the fact that it will be a private school. I am just dead set on going to UW, but you are both right, I guess I will do it just in case.
If you have trouble paying the 200 and have trouble with it being a private school, then why would you pay the 200? I cannot tell you what to do and I can't speak to UW's admissions team, but if you are so afraid to pay the 200, it does not sound like a good idea...

I did have something similar happen to me w/ grad school. I was accepted at my 2nd choice and they required a $1000 deposit. I knew I wouldn't hear from my first choice in time, so I paid it. Got accepted to my 1st and considered the 1k cost of doing business. I was going to agree with the TheCommuter, but in light of this post I wouldn't pay the $200. If you didn't want to go there, why did you apply? If you don't get into your 1st choice after all, just reapply at a later date.

University of Washington requires that you apply to their nursing school as well as the school itself. I was accepted into the nursing program but I won't hear if I got into the school itself until June/July. I was also accepted to another nursing school and I need to let them know by May 1st and pay $200 to save my spot in their program. Has anyone heard of someone getting into the nursing program and not into the school itself? Should I pay the $200 to the other program just in case? Any advice would help! Thanks!
