My husband was not successful again on the RN Nclex. He has studied over the hurst review, capellan and saunders. I personally feel like he is getting tripped up over the trick parts of the questions versus the content if that makes any sense. Ive helped him study and he just isnt getting how to break down the question and rule out answers. Di you have ANY tips or suggestions at this point? He has major test anxiety so failing several times has made that worse. He is alreafy an LVN but graduated the RN program in MAY. All of his classmates have passed, although not on the first try.

I am looking for suggestions on what code words to watch for or any other useful tips! He has gotten ALL 265 QUESTIONS EACH TIME!

Hi, I took my nclex today. This is what helped me. I read Hurst Reviews and Exam Cram, from beginning to end. The other thing that helped me was I looked at the break down from the Board of Nursing, as to what percentage of questions would be on the test. Once I looked at that, I googled the area, so when the computer asked me a question, I was thinking "ummmm, ok, they are asking about coordinated care, and that would help me answer the questions, my computer stopped at 85, and I had like 30 Select All That Apply. Maybe this will help!!

* Coordinated Care [11-17%]

* Reduction of Risk Potential [10-16%]

* Phychosocial Integrity [8-14%]

Congratulations on a job well done.

Kaplan is good for strategy. I always tell people who have been unsuccessful multiple times to get a tutor. The reason is that they are trained to determine what the problem is and then help you overcome it. Many people come on here unable to figure out what went wrong, getting help to figure it out is what they need. Many nursing schools can recommend an NCLEX tutor. if his can't then try caring4you.com. The nurse who owns that website tutors long distance and I have not heard of anyone who used a tutor failing after using one.
