Platt college Tulsa

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

I am looking at going to Platt college Tulsa"s lvn to rn program. I will take the net test in January. I am excited because it is a 13 month program . I feel like the move to Oklahoma for a 13 month period would be worth it to bypass waiting list and prereqs that are different from cc to cc . I do have a lot of prereqs just not enough to start at traditional college bridge programs by May. Any Platt grads out there with imput ?

Thanks, Calliesue

I would be in starting my third day at Platt's LPN program but I decided after the cost it'll be almost the same or less (if my calculations are correct) to just stay at TCC and get my RN then fast track at OU for my BSN. I understand people want to get done asap but visit TCC and look at your options cause they'll be cheaper in the long run!

So commuter would u recommend Tulsa Platt's LPN to RN program? I am currently in their LPN program, graduating in June, and I am wanting to start my bridge to RN soon after that. I have heard good and bad about the LPN-RN bridge, but not from a graduate.

Thanks

I had a DON who swore she would never hire another nurse (LPN) from Platt. But of course, we could have just gotten the bad apple of the class.

I am doing an LPN to RN bridge at a state college and its only 2 semesters... why is Platt's 13 months? Is that with pre-reqs included?

you may be right, i think there are bad apples in most schools, lol! i'm pretty sure that the 13 months is the entire program, pre req's included. i think i am going to steer clear of platt's lpn-rn bridge. i was talking to my sister-in-law, who is a rn, and she told me that in her opinion it doesn't matter where you go to school. she said we all take the same licensure test. i think i agree with her, but i'm thinking i'm going to try tulsa community college. even though my stuff from platt's lpn program would plug right into the bridge program that they offer. i may want to continue on for my bsn and platt's classes will not transfer.

Yes, the 13-month program length is with prerequisite classes included. They include the A&P, micro, English, American history, intro to computers, and so forth.
