Would the SRNAs on here like it if I started a pimp thread? The questions would be clinically related pearls or questions related to boards.

Pls do. I need all the help I can get!
Okay, a couple of simple knowledge questions to start with.
1. Name the most common nerve injured during surgery on the upper extremity and the lower extremity.
2. Name the all the nerves that need to be blocked for an ankle block ( separate into deep and superficial & identify what main nerve each branches off of).
Clinical question: You have a patient undergoing a hysterectomy with a history of a prolonged QT interval and hx of PONV, but otherwise healthy. What is your intra op anesthesia plan and what anti-emetics would be appropriate for this patient post op?

1. a)ulnar nerve b) common peroneal nerve
2. posterior tibial, saphenous, deep and superficial peroneal, sural;
clinical - rehydrate to approach euvolumia, no N2O, maintain BP with ephedrine if appropriate, decadron, H2-blocker, reglan can be given, acupressure on the P6 (?) meridian; alternatively you could go TIVA with propofol

Which nerve(s) are from the femoral and sciatic branches with the ankle block?
Your pt comes to recovery and has severe ponv. What else can give/do to help with her PONV?

saphenous from femoral, all others from the sciatic; the PONV 10mg propofol can act as an antiemetic, I need a lifeline for anything else

No zofran for prolonged QT, right? Doesn't it worsen prolonged QT? The ankle block was a good refresher!
More questions please! :)
Mo, this was a little longer prior to the server upgrade, I hope that material can be recovered.
