  1. The program has changed since I went there. I was the last MSN program and the director has since retired. Sorry I'm not any help. The program is nice if you have a family. Very supportive.
  2. Self taught is that you will definately need to study outside of class to get the information because not all material is covered in class for boards.
  3. Hi, As far as competition, I think that as long as you have a good GPA, CCRN etc you may get an interview. How you do in the interview will be the determining factor of getting accepted. I know the tuition is crazy (90K in-state and 136K out of state) for the program. Once accepted, you can live in graduate housing (~1100/month in North campus) or you can find somewhere cheaper. North campus is safer than south campus and you pay for what you get. They lose about 1 student per class not due to failing but rather the student finding that becoming a CRNA was not for them. Getting in is the hardest part of the program. UB is good in that they are not out to get you or make you fail. They will work with you to make sure you pass. You will learn a lot from your clinical sites and majority of the places are good. With that said, it is a self-taught program and that can be frustration especially since you are paying a high tuition. PM me if you have any more questions.
  4. Hi, I just wanted to know how you prepared for boards. Did you just use prodigy or just valley or both? Both are expensive and i want to know if it's worth the investment to get both. Thanks.
  5. Pls do. I need all the help I can get!
  6. yes you have a shot....and u don't need a 4.0 to get in. Get in a level 1 trauma center and get good experience in an ICU
  7. Buffalo tuition is 30k as OUT OF STATE for 28 months one of my main reasons for going there n cost of living is cheap in upstate NY. I was surprised to hear school parking is FREE. I had to call the school to make sure... Lol
  8. Hi, I decided to do graduate housing since they are town houses locate on north campus. Stay away from south campus because it is not safe.
  9. Hi Christine, Congrats on your acceptance to UB...nice to meet my classmates. I guess they are still interviewing to fill up the class seats. I am going to be moving from L.A, so I feel your pain. I have been checking craigslist for apartments. Hope that helps. Again, congrats. See you in August!!!
  10. LOL...I just got 'fired' by my patient tonight. It's okay though, learned not to take it personally....but boy am I glad I'm not 'allowed' to take care of him..it's a treat for me, for when that patient get rotated coz no one wants to take care of him d/t his attitude, they have to 'pass me over'. Not complaining.
  11. Hey guyz, hope all is well. Slynn7, I did receive my letter but they haven't taken out the deposit yet. I called and said I didn't have my UB ID yet. But i'll call them back in a couple of weeks if they haven't taken the deposit. I don't have any graduate classes, so sorry, but I can't be of help. Student79, I have been searching craigslist for places to stay near campus. I hope to be a walking distance from school, so I am not troubled during winter times...and if you get a roommate it's even cheaper between $250-500. Looking at this current winter in buffalo, I may also get chains for my car. Hit me up when you come to cali.
  12. Hi, Congratulations on you acceptance to UB. I just want to start a thread where we can all share about getting ID's, books, registration for classes etc. Any advice from current UB SRNAs would be welcome to what to expect for 1st year of school. Thanks.:thankya:
  13. Got my rejection letter from kaiser today. So on to buffalo I go!!! :)
  14. Hey Ibm5, 3ccbolus, I guess we are still in the running then. Good luck to all of us still waiting to hear back.
  15. Hi Ibm5, I have not gotten an invite to kaiser. I am okay with it since I get to go to my 2 nd choice. Good luck to all those who got an interview. I called the school and they said that people will know by the end of January if they get accepted to an interview or get rejected. I do not know if thy have finished emailing interviews or not. 3cc bolus, did you get an invite?
