Pima CC 2020

Published

Hello! I’ve been checking this site for a while hoping someone would start a thread.. and thought why don’t I?

Is anyone else applying to Pima CC nursing program with 2/1 deadline? I’m also applying to ASU CEP program! Just waiting for my degree to post and I’ll be all set to apply! ?

So if we got accepted into both and I want to do the CEP do you know if I would also have to sign and date the ADN one I always get nervous with this stuff LOL.

You pick which CEP you want to go with, if you applied to multiple. For example you pick EITHER asu or nau. The ADN is a given

I agree with Sbrown and Cactuslover, if you applied for multiple its just asking you to commit to one. Also, I get nervous will all these types of contracts too LOL. Doesn't hurt to sign all of them since there's only two and they'll let us know if we didn't need to sign both anyways ?

If anyone has applied for federal student loans and or private student loans I would love to know the process. I think that after the federal grants and loans I’ll still need like a 15k private loan.

I’ve applied for a private loan through sallie Mae and it was like dangerously too easy... although I didn’t go anywhere close to that amount. They constantly send me “offers” for more loans as “preferred customer” so you might get better interest rates as you apply for another one each year. The money was deposited I think a week after classes started, and I had to fill out a form with Pima telling them I was using a private loan. They also are deferred while you’re in school. Hope that helps you a little!

I have a question... I'm trying to decide between NAU or ASU. Does anyone have any insight as to which one is better.

I've heard ASU is better with veterans and online school, but I still kind of want to go to NAU.

Thanks for any feedback ❤️ Also congratulations!

IDK about better, but from what I’ve seen on campus NAU is more popular and I believe “cheaper” in that it’s less credits but costs most per credit- so overall a cheaper option.

CONGRATS to you too!

I’m starting to rethink my decision to accept the CEP program because of how much it’ll cost me. Any thoughts?

My moms a nurse and she did tell me that there is more potential to make more money with a bachelors instead of just an associates. She also said that a lot of jobs in hospitals prefer a bachelors vs associates. I would go for it!

I have heard a lot of talk about hospitals requiring a bachelor's degree for the 10 years I have been working in a hospital setting. I'm not saying it won't happen, I'm only saying it hasn't happened yet. Also I believe that the only hospital around here that compensates more to do higher education is the V.A. Follow your heart and do what feels right. I am personally going for my associates because it is much cheaper and I plan on going right back after I have started work as a nurse. Also, a lot of hospitals do tuition reimbursement so you would be reimbursed a fair amount if you were already working there. Just my 2 cents.
