Pierce Wa Nursing Program

Hi everyone! We will soon find out if we got an interview to the Pierce Nursing Program for Winter Admission. I created this forum to keep everyone up with the status of my application too! Post when you find out if you've got an interview, or post with your info (gpa, Kaplan score, etc.)

I'm eligible as well. My score is 80.

I was just wondering how are there scores less than 50 if you get 50 just for submitting then goes up from there depending on teas v score, military background, medical experience, etc. Does anyone know?

It's because they subtract points for retaking core classes

Seems like this lottery has less applicants and lower scores than last time... I hope that is good news for me :) it's hard to get a high score when I am not military, no medical lisense and never rook any classes at TCC. I have a 63 score. Anyone know when lottery will be run?

Hagattha it's probably because we all got in this last go around lol and from my experience they draw the lottery on a Thursday so I'd look around the 5th :)

So, i emailed the nursing director at Pierce and just got a response ....

"Thanks for your e-mail. I am awaiting a decision from the executive team. They meet once a week. I will be sending out a letter to all accepted students this week – expect it by weeks end. I also want to meet all of you, so I am planning a ‘meet and greet' session. Details on date and time will be in the letter.

As soon as I know when the cohort will start, I will e-mail all of you. Thank you for your patience. I know it is uncomfortable to put your life on hold while a decision is being made. Thanks for choosing Pierce College!"

We'll see what the letter says...

Theresa at TCC told me she thought the lottery will be held the 4th. I'm grateful that Pierce has selected me to be part of their next cohort, however, it is extremely challenging to feel confident that the new director on board might have an agenda the current and future student nurses and instructors might not find favorable. Why is there such a delay? I asked specifically at our interviews if there was going to be a lot of changes made to the program with the new director and all said, "no". They said that changes might happen here and there, but the program will continue on as is. If this is true, why such a HUGE delay in starting? Spring should be ample to get us in there and going. I don't want to wait until Fall. I'm just being honest, not a spoiled brat. We were supposed to start this month, Winter quarter 2015. I think delaying until Spring is acceptable, however, Fall, I'm not at all pleased. I'm ready to go! It will be a hard decision to make if I am drawn in the TCC lottery for Spring. I want to attend Pierce, as do many others that were selected and have put in to be in the TCC lottery for Spring Quarter. Pierce may be losing some very good, hand selected candidates due to their postponement of their 2015 cohort start.

Hi everyone:) I just saw everybody talking about Tacoma cc lottery spring 2015. I also applied TCC :) I wanted to ask everyone if you got a email from TCC? I saw the TCC lottery page last night and looks like they already draw the lottery!
