Pierce Wa Nursing Program

Just one more week of waiting! I feel like my life is on hold until I hear. Trying to stay busy, but honestly, it's all I think about. :)

Tammy would you mind sharing your gpa as well as grades for other classes? Healthcare experience? How'd the Kaplan go?

My gpa is 3.8. My Kaplan score definitely does not reflect this as it was mid 70's. However, thankfully, Pierce does not solely base acceptance upon these. I had strong letters of recommendation and my essays reflect my many years of working in the medical field, intrinsically and extrinsically. I've been employed at a local major hospital for over three years as a CNA as well as an Individual Provider for eighteen years with the State of Washington's DDD and Home and Community Services Departments. I received my Associates in Pre-Nursing DTA/MRP from Pierce this June 2014. I'm praying that this will be enough to make the cut. There's nothing I want more than to be a registered nurse, and eventually earn my MSN. Good luck to us both! :)

That's awesome! My Gpa is 3.7 but they said gpa isn't what they decide on. They said mostly their recommendation letters. I had one from a Pediatrician I worked for as well as a nurse that had graduated from Pierce that I had also worked with. Was that score your overall? I think mine was mid 70s as well. Lowest in Anatomy. It was a hard test and with the anatomy portion being last I was already drained! My brain was not functioning! I am also a CNA but for 5 years. Hopefully we both make the cut but we will see mid next week:) good luck girl!

Have you (or anyone) heard anything yet? I know they said today or tomorrow as an estimation of notification... just wanted to check in. Wondering if they'll be sending snail mail/email or phone calls???

Phone calls definitely but also letters. I haven't heard anything though :/ it's making my stomach bubble with nervousness!

tpeacoe1 - Is this your first time applying with Pierce? It is mine. I was told phone calls (and a follow up letter) will be made later this week. I actually started lifting weights last week to keep busy. I was (am) driving myself nuts over this. :)

This is my first time too:) I was just told that as well! I wonder whats taking so long? It's driving me bananas!
