Pierce Wa Nursing Program

Published

Hi everyone! We will soon find out if we got an interview to the Pierce Nursing Program for Winter Admission. I created this forum to keep everyone up with the status of my application too! Post when you find out if you've got an interview, or post with your info (gpa, Kaplan score, etc.)

I know Tacoma Community College had 228 applicants for their Fall 2014/Winter 2015 lottery admissions, so I'm wondering if that type of number would have applied to Pierce as well considering the application process for Pierce was quite rigorous (?). I know a few people who didn't apply to Pierce because they felt the application was way too much work.

I'm praying at this point that no news is good news. :nailbiting:

I applied 3 times to pierce (2011, 2012, 2013) My complete collegiate history is with them. I did running start and graduated highschool w/my assoc. then spent 5yrs in an unrelated field. Finished my prereqs at Pierce for nursing. Now I'm happily on the other side and start my ADN (at a different school) on Monday!! Good luck to you all!

stunurse2015 - I'm glad you were able to get into TCC. That lottery ordeal was quite the mess. Do you happen to recall if Pierce notifies the "not accepted" persons first, followed by the "accepted/phase II" persons? I look forward to the day I'm on the other side... here on earth that is. ;) I was surprised the nursing department contacted the people by phone that were not accepted. I figured they would just contact those that were able to get through to phase II; the interview.

Thanks! I'm very glad it was sorted out as well! I was told the later the call the worse it is. For example I was called on a Friday when the date for notifications was on a Monday. Sorry to those that weren't accepted keep your chins up and try again!!

Today was the first day the nursing department started making calls. I know of four people whom received calls that were rejected. (I don't mean to make that sound harsh nor uncaring.) I've yet to receive a phone call, and am praying this is a good thing. They actually estimated notifying applicants Sept. 11/12, however, the process this year is behind schedule according to my advisor. I just can't find any information in regards to if they (or other schools) call those rejected first or not. A professional friend of mine in a non-related field told me he has always known it that they always let the "no's" know first before contacting the "yes's". I guess I will find out next week. Thank you for replying back!

I was told by Eustenia that it was a randomized call and that a mixture of yes and no would be called.

I was wondering if they were goinf by alphabetical order... I guess not. Can't wait for monday to be here :oldman:

Okay, that's good to know. Thank you! My friend was called with a "no" and I'm glad she told me because when the phone does ring, I won't immediately thing I'm a "yes" for the next phase. Could go either way.

Found out that another person got the "no" call yesterday. Would love to see someone post they got through to Phase II if they got that "yes" phone call. Certainly there has to be a few, right?

:whistling: still waiting. .. any updates?

I haven't received a phone call yet. Found out yesterday another person I had a few pre-req classes with got the "no" phone call on Friday. I'm trying to not over think things. I truly believe that if it is meant to be, it will be. I pray everyday that this is His will. Regardless of my outcome this round, I will not give up.

I have also been praying a lot since i am due to be out of country for the country when the interview usually takes place

If i am picked and they do move the interview for November, I'll see that as a miracle :)
