PICO question

Updated:   Published

Hi all, I'm having a really tough time developing a PICO question that is very interesting.

I want to do something with cancer prevention or lowering ones risk to developing cancer with juicing or. Something of that nature. Any ideas? Please help!

First rule of PICO assignments: Look through the literature to see if there is evidence out there FIRST. Because I sincerely doubt you're going to find much if anything in peer-reviewed journals about your proposed topic. Save your interest in this topic for non-assignments. Trust me.

You are absolutely right! Any suggestions?

Hi all, I'm really struggling in coming up with a pico question. Can you help me?!?

Thank you!

What topics are you interested in researching? What broad topic are you interested in learning? Here is an example of what I am doing my doctoral research on.... Compared to undergraduate nursing students taking an on-ground fundamentals course, do undergraduate nursing students taking an on-line fundamentals course perform equally as well or better during skills checkoffs?

I hope this helps.

It's really going to depend on your interest. For example, I did one of mine on thermoregulation of the newborn. Skin to skin vs radiant warmer.

I don't think anyone is going to come up with a topic for you. Think about what you are interested in, what you think needs to be researched or improved on, something you have a connection to, etc. Good Luck.

If you are interested in cancer, perhaps your PICO could be about 1 aspect of treatment, for example, preventing nausea, hair loss, impaired immunity, pain control, or ways to optimize nutrition.

Doubtful that you can find much of juicing in peer reviewed lit but you might be able to find something on using EOs or alternative treatments (ginger, peppermint, etc) in treating CINV
