Hey everyone!
I found one topic on this, but it wasn't very active, so I hope this one becomes a little more successful. My name is Jennifer, and I am applying for the January 2015 Nursing Program at PHSC. My home campus is Porter at Wiregrass Ranch. Are there any other 2015 hopefuls? I'd like to get to know you all! I am taking my TEAS next Tuesday and am so nervous. This will be my first time taking the TEAS. Have any of you taken it? How was it?
Any tips? I have finished all me pre-reqs and finished with a 3.6. Not too bad, wish I would have got higher! Hope I get in! Good luck to all you ladies!
Thanks!
Good evening! I've been lurking on the site for the past 6 months reading the stories and looking to see what attracted everyone to the program. I took my pre-reqs over the summer and took the TEAS at the end of July. I'm coming late to the party at the age of 43 and an ex-mortgage broker. I'm looking to hit the reset button on my career one last time, and finally doing something NOT for the money. Good luck to all of you!Pasco resident, 4.0 GPA, 96.7 TEAS, 98.35%, accepted RN, Porter Campus preference.

RN composite scoring formula:
The first steps is to take your pre-req GPA and multiply by 25 then multiply that by .45.
The second step is to divide your TEAS by 2.
The third step is to add 5 points if you are a Pasco or Hernando resident.
Add your scores and that is your composite.
Example:
GPA 4.0*25=100*.45=45
TEAS 80/2=40
Resident +5
45+40+5= would have an entrance score of 90 for the program
For transition on Porter Campus...what will the schedule be like? Does anyone have an idea?
The course schedule for the Spring is up on the web site. I think this is one of the courses for transition.
Just got I info for the program to apply next year and was told by student services the schedule is 7 am to 3pm primarily during august admission and Jan admissions with changes some days depending on clinical and if admitted to the Jan program you would go Jan to may, off june and july, then go back to school august, graduate in December. I'm assuming this will be the same for you all as well :-) congrats to you all who got in.. really hoping next fall scores are about the same :-)
**** this would be for the transition program, I guess I'm not sure if this would be the same for straight RN program****
Just a reminder to everyone, we have FB pages set up that will greatly help us all for both the pre-program process as well as during the program.
This page is for ALL RN students (everyone is using this for now since we all have to go through the same exact process, but as time goes on we'll go our separate ways)
