I have decided to create a new thread for the ones that are going to apply to the ASN program at Pasco-Hernando State College. Hopefully we can share information and give some emotional support to each other :)
I was reading in the previous thread about their score system that works based on TEAS score + GPA + County residency.
My Pre-req GPA is 3.7 and I am in county resident.
I haven't take my TEAS test yet, but will post the results as soon as I have it and hopefully I will have some chance!
Is there anyone in the same boat?
I'm applying to the RN bridge as well and I took my TEAS today ... if I don't get in, I'm going to try again for January and keep working/saving in the meantime...
Hi there, we can find it at the college home page. I posted in a previous message a picture with the average GPA and TEAS score from past semesters.
How was your TEAS? I am retaking mine May 2nd.
Good Luck!
Thanks! And I'm not really sure. It says Proficient and I got a 78. But I know with each pool, it differs. I'm still trying to figure out my GPA. The reason I want to be an RN is because I really want to work in labor and delivery and that's hard to do as an LPN. But like I said, for me it's a win/win, if I don't get in this cycle because that'll force me to save some more. I support myself 100% and it's so hard to do that and school lol
What is it like to apply? I still need to pay at the bookstore. I am applying for both West and Porter but prefer West. So do you bring app to admissions? Do they check it through and ensure everything is there? And is there something in writing confirming they have formally received it?
Yes, you bring the WHOLE application packet to admissions building only. And when you hand it in, they will literally flip through each page. Then they will make a copy of each one and hand it back to you, so that's your confirmation or "receipt". I'm applying to the Transition program so my choices for Fall are only West or North. I'm not sure if it's different for Generic but Transition can only apply to Porter in Spring ... I would just confirm that if I were you.
I am sending my application by mail and will pay it by phone. The process seems to be pretty simple.
I am retaking my TEAS this coming Tuesday - I hope I can get a better score then my last one, or I won't get into Porter - I really want Porter Campus because its proximity to my house, but the scores seems to be very high!
When I spoke with the counselor to make sure all my I's were dotted and T's were crossed with my application I was told that for the upcoming semester East/Porter was one campus. Meaning some days you'll have classes at Porter other days it will be at East. They aren't two different campuses with two sets of nursing students. Which stinks because then there's that many less seats.

Are you bridging from LPN to RN?
Your score is 75.5.
The formula is: GPA/4 x .45 + TEAS/2 + 5 for county.
Are you applying anywhere else? have you tried HCC?
I am applying for both.
And yes, it doesn't matter previous degrees... I have a Bachelors in Allied Health Sciences (USF rejected me for their second degree RN track).
Good Luck!
