PHSC 2017 Fall Nursing

Published

I have decided to create a new thread for the ones that are going to apply to the ASN program at Pasco-Hernando State College. Hopefully we can share information and give some emotional support to each other :)

I was reading in the previous thread about their score system that works based on TEAS score + GPA + County residency.

My Pre-req GPA is 3.7 and I am in county resident.

I haven't take my TEAS test yet, but will post the results as soon as I have it and hopefully I will have some chance!

Is there anyone in the same boat?

Hello, I'm applying for the Nursing program at PHSC for fall as well! I have a 4.0 in GPA, and so far has As in my microbiology class this semester. I live in county & I have a 74.7% on the TEAS. The science section is very hard. I did take it twice. The second time I got a 72.7% so the science was definitely harder. Brush up on fractions and body functions (hormones). The application for fall is uploaded on Monday, April 10th. Applications are due no later than May 8th @4pm. Don't forget to take CPR class. It's required before you apply to be certified in BLS. Hopefully more people comment! I have been looking for a thread and was going to put one our there. Maybe change the title to "PHSC Nursing Hopfuls Fall 2017." Good luck!

Hi there...:geek:

The information you gave is not required for the Generic track RN.

And the deadline to apply according to their website is May 30.

The CPR and BLS is required for Transfer Students only.

They have not corrected the sources for online. I talked the the Dean of nursing. They changed the date the applications are due. Instead of May 30, it's now May 8. As far as the CPR training goes, an advisor told me that I needed it for the generic track. Also, the new updated application comes out April 10th. It will say due May 8th. You can view the PDF file for the Application checklist on PHSC'S website and it will say May 8th. They changed it because it would take too long to get the results back if people were accepted. Before, it was due the end of May and people did not find out until end of July if they were accepted, which generally gave people pass than a months notice. The Dean said that they're due May 8th this year and we will know in 3 weeks if we have a seat (first week of June we will know for sure). Online is misleading and does not have the correct information, they're suppose to change that.

The new one will be out on Monday í ½í¸‰â˜ºí ¾í´—

Thank you for clarifying all the information. It is indeed misleading.

You're welcome! Maybe talk to a nursing advisor to clear some things up. Let me know what they say! Good luck! í ½í¸Š

Hi!! First let me say CONGRATULATIONS on your amazing career choice! I am currently in my 4th semester of the nursing program (RN generic) at PHSC on the Porter Campus. If any of you are interested in buying my books for the program, I am selling them. I can post pics and prices if you want😊 Good luck to all of you!!!

Thanks! The test was not bad for me at all. However, I am a career changer and currently a teacher. A lot of the stuff that was on the test were things that I am exposed to on a daily basis. Science, however, was difficult. I know I learned all of it at some point in my life but I couldn't recall much of it.

You sound very familiar. You might be in my microbiology class this semester! I am with Spaziani Tuesday/Thursday night's 5:30-6:45pm lab on Tuesday night.

I'm applying for the transition program with a 3.3 GPA ,a 79 TEAS score and I am a resident. I REALLY hope I get in!:dead:

Welcome to the thread!

Which campus are you applying for?

Is the transition program as competitive as the generic one?

I hope you get in too!

Throwing my hat in the ring

Rn bridge program

2.8 GPA

78 teas

I have a ba in psychology from usf, but I don't think that has any weight.

I looked at some other threads... I'm not overly hopeful, but I have a sense of humor

If I don't get in, I go pay Rasmussen 20k. I've been a nurse for 20 years.

If anyone has worked out the formulas, I will be interested to know my score. I live in County

I'm applying for both, but I hoping for the west campus! I heard it's not as competitive, so Im hoping that is true!

I am hoping for the Porter Campus. It is just very close to my house... life would be easier!
