PHSC 2017 Fall Nursing

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I have decided to create a new thread for the ones that are going to apply to the ASN program at Pasco-Hernando State College. Hopefully we can share information and give some emotional support to each other :)

I was reading in the previous thread about their score system that works based on TEAS score + GPA + County residency.

My Pre-req GPA is 3.7 and I am in county resident.

I haven't take my TEAS test yet, but will post the results as soon as I have it and hopefully I will have some chance!

Is there anyone in the same boat?

I thought you could only apply to 2/3 campuses ? Also, the board meets today to make a decision. I thought letter will be received by the first of June, not sent. I'm not too sure. I'm hoping on next week! It took 2 days to me to get my confirmation letter. They mailed Monday morning & I got it yesterday afternoon. I only applied to West.

According to the Adviser at West campus, East/Porter is one campus this semester, It's not a choice between the two, you attend some classes at East, some classes at Porter.

when my son was accepted to the program he received an email and a letter telling him he was accepted. Maybe emails will go out tomorrow?? That would be awesome! :)

Did he get the email before the letter? That would be great!!!! I also heard from a nursing student recently that she got a phone call. Because I guess East/West was on one application. She got accepted to both & she had to choose what campus.

Oh, okay. I only applied to West so that really doesn't affect me. I though you chose what campus for east/porter

Yep the email came before the letter. I don't remember if he also got a phone call.. he was only accepted to west not both, so maybe it's a call they make to free up another spot as quickly as they can?

Yeah the east/porter is one campus. Not sure how its going to workout split like that but it said on the application east/porter. And the west campus was another application. So i submitted 2 applications.

So we can receive an email as early as tomorrow?!

Anything is possible! But I wouldn't get too excited. Lol

Well the confirmation letters I got today say they plan on mailing out acceptance letters the first week of June. Not sure if they are going to email/call. If they send the out on June 8th which is a Thursday, and it possibly may take up to 5 business days to mail, then I expect acceptance letters to be received by June 14th (Wednesday). That's assuming everything is on-time. You may get it earlier, but to play it safe I'd give it to maybe June 19th before stressing. It also never hurts to call sometime during the first week of June just to checkup.

It's probably going to be before the 14th. When I spoke with the person at admissions who sorts through the apps, he said they will definitely be out to everyone before the 15th that way you can still apply to the LPN program if you would like.

Yeah I agree, but you never know how fast the post office will mail them out. You'd hope it wouldn't take more then 2 days to mail something in county, but with fathers day being so close on the 18th there may possibly be a delay.

I really hope we know the answer by next week. I don't feel overwhelmingly excited since I'm already a nurse, but the main thing is, I have to coordinate my life to prepare for full time classes again. The earlier I know the easier. So I hope we don't find out mid-June.
