PHSC Fall 2016 Hopefuls

Published

Hi all!! I'm starting this new thread in hopes of finding some returning or new applicants to PHSCs Fall 2016 RN orogram! This will be my 4th time applying 3rd in a row..... I'm planning on retaking my Teas to try for a better composite score.. will be applying to all available campuses for the RN transition program! :-)

I got a call. They left a message and I called them back. I got into both campuses. She asked me to chose which I preferred while on the phone so I turned down Porter. She said she will be sending me an acceptance email and confirmed my PHSC email address. Yay!!

edit - I am the one who said they said end of July and that is what the letter said and also what admissions told me when I handed in my applications. So I did not arbitrarily make that timeframe up and it also meant that I was truly shocked to get a call! The message said she was calling about my app so naturally I thought there was a problem with it.... I was pretty excited to learn I was wrong on that!!

Wow, congrats! I wonder why the lady (Josie) at the West Campus specifically said letters would be sent out, not phone calls. Perhaps the campuses are not communicating? Regardless I am on pins and needles. I guess I will settle in for a 2-3 week wait.

Thank you! I don't know what is going on. I checked and the person who called me who I called back is listed in admissions and the phone numbers match up (I am feeling paranoid, lol). She asked me to send my acceptance letter right back so I am anxiously awaiting that but it hasn't arrived in my email yet. It will feel real once I see that.

It seems that only people applying for generic RN are receiving phone calls. I thought LPN letters would come out first like they have previous years. I hope they start calling everyone else tomorrow!

Me too. I applied for LPN because I took the Teas test so late, I did not have time to retake it and did not think my score of 70 would cut it for the RN program. So...maybe there is the difference.

I spoke with someone in Admissions, they just had the board meeting today. The purpose of the calls, as I was told, was because there are many applicants that applied to different campuses so they are cleaning up the list. I wasn't selected, but as they clean up the lists openings may come up.

That makes a lot of sense, especially since she asked me to decline a campus while we were on the phone.

Thanks for the info emski1006! It soothed my compulsion to check my phone every 2 minutes to see if I got a call. Now I'm back to stalking my mailman!

I got the call! I'm in!!!

Congrats to all the people who are getting to find out early! Go celebrate! :)

I just got a call and was accepted! I was preparing myself for the worst. I accepted the seat, but she said there's no guarantee I will get west campus, it may be dade city so she said to be prepared for that.

What scores did you all have that got in? CONGRATS! If we didn't get a phone call does that mean we did not make the cut?

Read about 6 comments up. It seems like they are just doing RN and making openings.
