anyone take the course...? i'm totally thinking about it and also seriously thinking about changing my major from nursing to either multispecialty/cardiovascular sonography or radiologic technology ?!?!? ahhhhhhhhhh!!! i am a CNA though, and was just curious what people thought of the course and if they benefited from itthanks in advanced
phlebotomy is a great course. take it.
Phlebotomy is a great way for anyone to get their feet wet in a medical career. The course are really inexpensive and they are in no way time consuming for those with other obligations that take up a bulk of their time. Do be aware though that even though the courses are not long, you will need to put in a fair amount of time, as with any field, to become skilled at taking specimens.
Taking a phlebotomy course is a great door opener to alot of different fields. Once you are working inside a hospital setting (if thats what you choose) you will be immersed in so many different professions that it will help you decide what route you may wish to take in the future!

Phlebotomists make about half of what a nurse makes.
The sonography does do very well...if there was a school in my state, that is what I would have been doing instead of nursing.
Radiology...too much of a cancer risk...you get the most exposure from the portable machines.
I received training as a phlebotomist and unfortunately I couldn't find any part time jobs for it in my area (just full time) but the experience and my internship was really great and helped to get me introduced into the healthcare field. If you have a chance to take it then go for it (especially with the CNA training, it makes a good combination.)
