Phillips Beth Israel Applicants

Published

Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone has applied to the Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing in NYC for the coming year? I am looking to get into their part-time evening program that would begin in Spring 2011. I'm taking the NLN this Wed and really nervous about it, really just the verbal part....

I wonder how many applications were sent....do you guys know?

i gave mine in Dec/Jan...you guys?

Touro is in brooklyn/

stinson - no i never got a reply email back so that's why I just kept it off my mind. haha. I knew she just came back from vacay monday too so i'm sure the phones have been off the hook as usual and her inbox is overflowing. Just trying to keep my sanity by keeping away. but i think i'm definitely going to call tomorrow to see if i can get in touch with her. the last time i called the admissions # the girl that answered said she wasn't from admissions so she didnt know anything about the admissions committee meetings.

star- did you go to undegard school? where ya from?

good luck tommorow!!!!!!!!!!

wow stinson you handed your application early! when did you take the NLN? They received my app and my scores around the same time, earlier this month. I took the NLN on 2/20 so...My app was all complete as of the beginning of the month...i know that in previous years almost 1000 people apply for the 150 spots? i think?

I sent my app towards the end of Jan/beginning of Feb.

I saw on a thread...it might have even been this one that they call to set up an interview...I don't know...still stalking the mailman though lol

stinson,

i'm from jersey, went to school in upstate ny at colgate and graduated 07...work in nyc now. what about you?

I know...I took the NLN in November.. but wow so many ppl...thats sooo competitive.....i don't know what to think... did you apply to other programs?

Do you know if they first call for interviews or send letters? I don't understand how this works...

No I didn't apply to any other schools. I'm pretty much banking on this one school. I want to continue working fulltime and reap the benefits of tuition reimbursement lol. this is probably the ONLY program in the NY/NJ area that I know of that is work-friendly.

After they review your application you should get an interview first...which they will call you to schedule...The past few years people have posted on other threads and it seems like that is the general process. and the earlier you apply the better. and the higher the NLN score it seems, the better. lol

Lol, Kuklara. You're like me now, stalking the mailman! :lol2: I keep checking my phone too. Yesterday it rang and when I tell you I ran to get it, OMG!! It was my mother in law though :crying2: not that that's a bad thing. Hopefully next week we'll get some kind of news. Have a great weekend ladies!!!

wow the fact that so many people apply is discouraging. does the fact that i am a male help? :D

Hey Italian...it might! As long as your grades are good that should help you also

I GOT A PHONE CALL TODAY!!!

Just kidding just kidding!!!

We need a little humor on here! LOL

Still waiting like crazy with everyone else....hope everyone is doing OK
