Philippine nurse graduate to take Nclex

World Registration

Published

Hi Everyone!

i'm new here, i live in wisconsin and for those who live here who came from philippines and work as nurse i just wanna ask you all if there's a possibility for me to take Nclex exam? I don't have Philippine license as i didn't take it, but i wanna pursue my career as nurse here in wisconsin but i don't know how and where to start? If someone could help me and give me advice as to what to do. I would be grateful.

Thank's!

Your only option I think is to go back to school of nursing there and finish the curriculum. There is no chance for you to take nclex without passing and having Philippine nursing license

So I really can't take Nclex at al and pursue my career as nurse here? How about take nursing class here in wisconsin? You think it's a good Idea?

I think that's the best option for you

What you need to do is go to the BON website and look up what are the requirements for someone who trained outside of the US. Many have met requirements and passed NCLEX without sitting the NLE.

According to their website you need CGFNS exam. You may want to contact the BON and see what requirements would be to endorse as it may be worth going through the process with another state and then endorse. Be aware you are currently looking at anything from 4-6 months to go through the process.

Hi Silverdragon102,

I called Wisconsin BON and was told that they don't need philippine license all they need is certification from Cfgns. Wisconsin BON told me that cfgns will decide if they will let me take NCLEX even if i don't have Philippine License.

I called CFGNS and was told that i need to speak with BON about it as they only evaluates credentials. So i don't know who to talk to.

For those whi have same issue as me please share your experience.

Thank's!

CGFNS is correct all they do s pull paperwork together and BON makes the decision. CGFNS certification is a exam and you still have to take NCLEX and pass so I would ask them what requirements are for endorsing a license when trained outside the US as sometimes all they need is CES report which is better than having to sit exam

Hi!

What Wisconsin BON mean is apply for CGFNS certification. Once you send them the school/prc requirements and complete the exams (TOEFL & cfgns exam), CGFNS will forward a report (I'm not sure with the right word for this service, but I will call it a report like with my CES ;))to Wisconsin BON. Your state BON will check it and compare it to their criteria then determine if you're eligible to take the nclex in the state of Wisconsin. That's why they said, to simplify things up, it's up to CGFNS if you can take the nclex even if you don't have your Philippine license. So no one knows if you're eligible to take the nclex until you apply for cgfns certification. (someone correct me if I'm wrong) It's a little bit complicated, I know.

CGFNS will only answer questions regarding requirements for their services like CES, CVS, certification but not BON requirements. That's why they said you should speak with your state BON.

hope this helps :)

Hi!

Now i get it :) are you from wisconsin as well? By the way with CES do u still remember the requirements for that? And could you tell me where to start?

Thank's :)

Certification is not CES. Do not start CES report if the state requires certification.
