Philippine nurse graduate to take Nclex
For Wisconsin it's CGFNS Certification, not CGFNS CES. I'm here in Arizona and it's CES for us. I'm not familiar with cgfns certification but what my friend said she processed her school documents/prc license before taking the cgfns exam. So just apply for cgfns certification :)

Philippine nurse graduate to take Nclex
Hi! What Wisconsin BON mean is apply for CGFNS certification. Once you send them the school/prc requirements and complete the exams (TOEFL & cfgns exam), CGFNS will forward a report (I'm not sure with the right word for this service, but I will call it a report like with my CES )to Wisconsin BON. Your state BON will check it and compare it to their criteria then determine if you're eligible to take the nclex in the state of Wisconsin. That's why they said, to simplify things up, it's up to CGFNS if you can take the nclex even if you don't have your Philippine license. So no one knows if you're eligible to take the nclex until you apply for cgfns certification. (someone correct me if I'm wrong) It's a little bit complicated, I know. CGFNS will only answer questions regarding requirements for their services like CES, CVS, certification but not BON requirements. That's why they said you should speak with your state BON. hope this helps :)

How I passed the NCLEX :)
Hi everyone! I took the nclex on December 17, 2014 and luckily, I passed :). The computer shut off at 75 questions (26 SATA, 1 drag-and-drop, 6 meds and the rest were PDA, infection control questions and other things). If you read my previous thread, I mentioned that I graduated in the Philippines in 2010 so I had to review more intensely. I wan't sure if I was eligible to take the exam so I didn't start reviewing after I passed the TOEFL on July. I received my ATT on September 30 and I scheduled it on December 2 but had to reschedule it again because I wasn't ready. I studied 12 hours a day for 2 months and 16 days. It was a nightmare! :'( So here are the nclex review materials I used: The main book I used for CONTENT was Saunders 5th Edition. 50% of the exam questions I had are found in this book. Finished reading everything for 1 month and 1 week starting with the first 2 chapters (basic nursing topics), then maternity and child, next is Psych, followed by Adult nursing and lastly, Pediatrics (I read somewhere to study your weakest area last!). Once I finish a chapter, I answer questions for that specific chapter on the CD. Plus the CD has a lot of SATA so it's great for practice especially if you hate SATA questions (like me). I didn't read this book only once. I read it like a million times. For STRATEGIES, I used KAPLAN RN strategies, practice and review with CD. Very helpful!!! It also has practice questions. For QUESTIONS: Saunders' Q&A, Lippincott Q&A, Hurst Review book --> just for practice even if some are not nclex style questions. I finished saunders' Q&A and Hurst but not Lippincott because I ran out of time. NCSBN 3 week review course--> Didn't read the content. I just answered 1200 questions which were a bit similar with the actual NCLEX. I purchased this 1 month before the exam. NCLEX 3500 online--> For practice SATA questions. It's actually FREE! There are some topics that aren't discussed in Saunders so I'm really glad someone mentioned this in the forum. PDA by LaCharity--> A MUST HAVE!! i got like 10 priority and delegation questions and I'm confident I answered them correctly. (10 points to me!) The book helped me a lot since there are no LPNs in the PI and there are few/no NAs in the workplace, I had trouble answering delegation questions before. I answered this after reading Saunders. Other resources: PDF Study Guide and Lab Value sheets by IceStar817 in allnurses.com Michael Linares' videos or any on youtube--> I played the videos every time I cook dinner (lol) Kaplan Mini Q bank App and other free NCLEX app from the app store Nclex questions from Pinterest ATI PDF files online --> Pops up every time I search something on google like trach suctioning, catheter removal , handwashing steps or other topics not discussed in Saunders. I spent $115 total for Saunders, PDA and NCSBN. The rest were borrowed from the library and are free on the internet :) I didn't take the KAPLAN review course because I had to focus on content first. I planned on taking it if i didn't pass the exam. But I did so I saved $300 yay! :) I made my own list of topics to memorize by heart and I'm glad that I did because some of it came out it in the exam. i'll post it in another thread along with my nclex tips soon (if I'm not busy) or just message me if you want it. I'm really grateful for this site and I want to thank everyone who shared their Nclex journey. Good luck future nurses and don't give up!

Failed I need a good Content source
I understand your situation. The nclex really needs time and focus especially to us who graduated years ago. I studied 12 hours a day, for 2 months straight. It felt like my brain was about to explode. Just watch videos on youtube. Search for Michael linares. I got 1 nclex question about a heart medication and thanks to him I'm confident i picked the right answer (i think). If you don't fully understand a topic, just look it up on youtube like proper use of crutch or pathophysiology of HIV, Alzheimer's and etc. I'm going to share my study tips in another post soon.

Failed I need a good Content source
I took the exam yesterday and today i found out i passed. I am also from the ph. I just read Saunders and PDA. I took ncsbn review course 3 weeks for the questions only and some content such as cpr. I didn't do kaplan because its expensive. I watched videos online too. Nclex 3500 is nice for content too.

Az BON concurrency issue help!
UPDATE: Passed the toefl on July. Sent my application the next month. Received instructions/requirements and fingerprint card 5 days after. Paid pearson vue the next month. Got my ATT this morning. Didnt expect it would be this fast. I'm taking the nclex end of November. Wish me luck :)

Az BON concurrency issue help!
Really? Hmmmm..You can call them and ask if there's a problem. I can only think of 2 possible reasons for the delay: the payment and the lawful presence. It only took 3 days for azbn to send me the fingerprint card. I didn't apply for Ca because my husband's application was rejected. Yes, I took the toefl on July. It wasn't easy but I'm so glad I passed. I hear a lot of filipino nurses move here from Ca because there's a greater chance they can take the nclex. But it really depends.

Az BON concurrency issue help!
Hi rhea :) I submitted my fingerprint card last week. It'll take 4-6 weeks to process then maybe on November I'll receive the ATT if there's nothing wrong with my application. Yes, there's also a concurrency issue here but not as serious as Ca, i think. Lets just hope that our school report meets the azbn standard. They'll inform us if we need to take a class or a refresher course. When did you submit your application?

Az BON concurrency issue help!
I think it's better to pass the english exam before applying for the nclex because the cgfns expires after a year. But since you passed the IELTS before, I think you can apply for cgfns and IELTS/toefl at the same time because i'm pretty sure you wont be having a hard time with the ielts exam :) (that's if you want to take the nclex right away). You can email me at [email protected]

Az BON concurrency issue help!
Hi plengzy. Welcome to arizona! What I did first was I just applied online at the cgfns website and filled out the form for cgfns CES professional report. Before the step they ask you to pay the application fee, you can print out the forms you need to sign and send to your school/s even if you haven't paid for the application yet. Cgfns requires you to pay within 60 days to continue the application. I did this so that my cgfns document won't expire right away. I filled out the form on January but paid the fee on Febuary when my school informed me they sent my documents to cgfns via lbc (which took 5-7 days to deliver). So instead of January 2015, my cgfns application expires on February 2015 which means I have 1 extra month to get all the things done for my nclex so that I don't have to pay $150 to renew my cgfns documents. Cgfns finished my paper work around the first week of April. I didn't expect that they finish it right away. But then I found out I still need to take an English exam before azbn processes everything. (boooo!) Have you taken the IELTS or toefl exam?

Az BON concurrency issue help!
None. I don't even see a lot of posts about foreign nurses' experience applying in az too. I'm kinda sad about it. I have no idea whats gonna happen with my application. I am thinking of applying in Nevada if its not gonna work out here.

Az BON concurrency issue help!
Hi demoniquenurse!! Cgfns already sent my documents to azbn but I still have to pass the toefl exam. They'll wait for my toefl result first before they process my application. I'm taking it this June/July. So for now, I'm focused on toefl. The speaking part is hard and they need a grade of 26/30 for that what state are you from?

PRC- CGFNS application
I asked my sister to do it. She waited in line for 7 hours twice! The first time she went there, she lacked information about my exam date and number. So she went back the next day and successfully did it! (Best sister in the world!). I thought prc will give her the form together with the priority number so while waiting for her turn, she can message me about it while I was still awake. But that's how they do it in my city hope you won't encounter this problem too!!! They also need your graduation date & prc ID information. P.S. I made a special power of attorney so that my family can process my papers for me :)
