hello-
i'm a guy who'll be starting a part-time BSN program this week Tuesday. love this website and thought i'd try to 'network' with any other students attending nursing school in the Philadelphia or South Jersey area!
come one, come all!
Thanks!!
Well I'm looking to do the 2 year 2nd degree BSN program. I figure it will give me more exposure and time to work part time and get some experience under my belt as well. That whole 1 year program is a little overwhelming and I'm afraid that my GPA won't get me in (which isn't fair that I slacked off in college) but there is nothing I can do! I'm looking at either TJU's 2nd degree program or I heard U of Delaware has one too. Upenn is too expensive and I heard Villanova just started one too? I know lafayette has one as well, that is a 3 year weekend program (part time). Lots of options. As long as you have a good GPA and have the good grades in prereqs you probably have a good chance in getting in around here!
Hi. I've been looking for part-time or fast-tracked programs in Philly. I think I might be interested in the Lafayette program. I tried to look it up on Google but can't find any info. Would you have a link, contact, or just some more info.? Like, for example, when you say "3 year weekend program", do you mean you just have to go to school on weekends?
Thanks!

I'm a new kid on the block and I'm thinking of applying to nursing school. I have a BA in Biology (graduated 2002) from the University of San Diego and currently live in SD and work as an Admin Asst. and a Physical Therapy Aide. I was thinking of going into an accelerated/2nd degree BSN program (even with my degree I still have a few prereq's to finish!!!) So you're wondering why is a San Diego girl on the Philly/South Jersey thread? Well my boyfriend is in the marines but when he is finished we are moving back to Philly in 2005 where he's from. I know the weather will kill me but...Cali is expensive and Arnold Schwartzanegger is now the governor, so why not? Those of you in programs...how were you're grades for your prereq's etc. I had a 3.1 cumulative, but my science grades were a little lower. It seems like the accelerated programs in the Tri-State area are really competitive I'm afraid I won't get in. What can I do to improve my chances...I'm trying to find a CNA class to take and then get job after my prerq's are done. It's been frustrating. ANy advice would be great, thanks.
