:yeah:Has anyone received an acceptance letter for the RN program for PHCC Spring 2012????
PPD results are read 48 hour later, then you go back a week later for the next test, and then again 48 hours later. (atleast that is what I did at the health department in July)
Justlet go: I found Lifespan! I hope it is a current edition? Even if it is not, I have found in the past, that the only thing different in close editions is the page numbers... so we can check on that! You are right it probably is to soon to sign up, didn't think of that! Whenever you want them just let me know..
Jennymarie: I am going to go to the place where you went (Lutz location though) Closer... They take my insurace and even with my deductible it is cheaper than Walgreens. Will redo my PPD at the health department though, because they quoted me $25 again for the 2 step.
hmmm....i was told the PPD was only a 1 step process? i also researched it on medicinenet.com and thats what it stated also. Its supposed to be administered intradermally and then the results read 48-72 hours later.
on a separate note....went to phcc today and decided i would stop by the bookstore to buy the books. Well, when i got there, they strongly suggested I *NOT* buy the books until December. He said the books that are listed on that list that we received in our packet and that are currently in the bookstores are the ones from fall semester. He said that they tend to change a few things up every semester. So, as if we don't have enough money to spend, I figured I'd pass this info along!
Jennymarie: I would check with PHCC about the PPD, I was under the impression that they are doing away with the 1 step and only the 2 step will be accepted? If so they can only be a week a part.
Justletgo: I live in Spring Hill, but work on Embassy in Port Richey... so whatever works for you works for me.
How is EOE doing with their check off lists?
hey guys....just another quick note. I called the school today to find out about the 1-step vs. 2-step PPD test. What I was told by Billie (the associate dean of nursing) was that this is an ongoing controversy. While the 1-step will suffice for the requirements for PHCC, some hospitals are now/soon will be requiring the 2-step. So, to be on the safe side, i will go back on monday and get another test done. If anyone else has any info on this, please share! :) Thanks and have a great weekend!

wow maza- 530 is alot! i only paid 259 for all the immunizations, titers, and physical. 20 for the flu shot. I had my hep B shots a while back so i only got the titer for that so that also helped to lower my costs. I go back tomorrow to have my PPD test read, and when i do, i will find out the breakdown of each and post it on here. Just so everyone has a comparison in price.
avela--we will have to talk this out at orientation because it would def help us both out!
