Hello everyone!! I would like to start a thread for the 2011 Fall semester RN & LPN applicants! I applied to both and with the deadline to turn in the application tomorrow, I am already super anxious. I figured this would be a great way to check in with each other and hopefully meet our fellow classmates!!!!!!!!!!
:yeah:
:yeah:
Whew! It's official. I got my letter in the mail today along with the enrollment packet. I can't wait!! I was at work and my husband held it from me all day. My kids were excited to know that they were not on call to respond once they heard the mail jeep. lol I am in the LPN evening/weekend class. I reviewed my packet and have already been searching for my shot record, etc. I am required by my employer to have my BLS so that is atleast one less thing to worry about. I am so excited to stay connected and meet you all during our orientation. We are amoungst the lucky few. Congrats to my fellow classmates! We are now one step closer to our dreams.
Amen lol..lol..lol cant wait to meet everyone what a happy day today:yeah:
Rickie40...we are definitely going to be on this journey together, I plan on bridging as well to the RN program!! I know that this is going to be a trying process, but SO worth it! It's so nice to know that I will not be alone!!! We have a lot to do to prepare for the upcoming semester.....Just soo excited! Did I say I was excited..lol July 1st=most amazing day ever!
Just got my acceptance packets to BOTH programs I applied to!!!! I don't think I have been this excited about anything in a very long time. I will be accepting the RN program. I can't wait to start but I am overwhelmed by everything that I need to have done before orientation in less than a month! anyone share my sentiments????
I got my letter/packet yesterday. I am a shoe in for the LPN/Night-Weekend NPR classes but an alternate for the North Campus Day program. I work at the hospital and am able to be flexible with my schedule but am so worried about managing work/school. I was in the RN program at Keiser University last semester but dropped out in hopes that I could actually end a career with less debt than what I would if I were to attend a Community College. Prior to Keiser, I spent a year and a half working on my RN program pre-rec's at PHCC. I am used to managing work, home, school and family but I think the pressures of knowing I am getting even closer to my dream is amazing. And-I am not going to finish school with a HUGE debt as what I would have at Keiser!! Yay! Anyways, now I am left to searching for my immunization record from 36 years ago?!. (I just told my age) lol I am going to bridge over and continue until I get my BSN. May go further than that, who knows!? For now, I shall take it a day at a time until our first class and kick butt from there on out! I am so proud of each and every other one of you that have made it and am so looking forward to having study groups. If you were amoungst those whom did not make it, HANG IN THERE!! This was my second time applying and here I am !!! Do not give up on your dreams.
yes... it was my third time applying. I was picked as an alternate both times before. Guess what they say is true... third time is a charm! Now i have to finish up microbiology that im in now and i will have all my general education classes done. My question is... for those semesters that i have those classes completed (like the semester that is micro computers and english 1) do i just skip and go to the next semester of nursing classes or do i have to sit on my hands and do nothing for that semester?!
Okay my checklist is almost complete just the physical(no suprise lol) so Im goinig to call the health department to see what they would charge me to do it there otherwise the walk in clinic by me does the whole package for $200 and from what I heard that is really a good price. All other things on list complete one I finish the physical I am ready for round one Orientation lol..lol
Rickie40...I hope that we get together on homework, study group, etc. because I am finished with everything other than the physical as well. lol I had my BLS/CPR already (which is required from my place of employment) so that atleast knocked that out of the way. Whew!! I put everything in a binder and protective covers so that I do not turn them in looking all wrinkly and dismantled. lol Is this that we are OCD or determined is my next question?!. lmbo I have not had the opportunity to call around about the physical but will post later what I do hear once I do so.
