Hello everyone!! I would like to start a thread for the 2011 Fall semester RN & LPN applicants! I applied to both and with the deadline to turn in the application tomorrow, I am already super anxious. I figured this would be a great way to check in with each other and hopefully meet our fellow classmates!!!!!!!!!!
:yeah::yeah:
Anyone out there or am I all alone????

Best of luck! I was in the same spot as you this time last year! I was blessed enough to get in and had an awesome first year with the teachers and classmates I had. I know there are a couple in the program floating around on here when time permits, so feel free to ask any questions!
Were you in the LPN or RN program? I applied for both but figure that even if I get into the LPN then I can bridge. Regardless, one day I will be there!

Hello All! I applied to the RN generic track for this fall. Since they extended the due date for apps to June 15th, we probably won't get our letters until the second week of July, maybe slightly sooner. I have a 4.0 GPA and got an 85 composite (90th percentile) on the TEAS. Not sure if it's good or bad...I've done all the classes for the program, just need to do the actual NUR courses, and I'm only two classes from my AA. If I get in, I hope to transfer to UCF for their accelerated BSN-MSN program after graduation, and work in a hospital in Orlando. I actually want to work in public health. So what is everyone else's plans? And do you mind if I ask how each of you did on the TEAS? It's hard to know what's competitve as far as scores go. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!! LET'S KEEP EACH OTHER POSTED!!
Bartonbunch... I applied and got into both and selected Generic RN. However, the LPN should not be taken lightly. I know a TON very intelligent and highly-motivated people who thought they were taking the "2nd place prize" at first by only getting into the PN program. NOT AT ALL. It's very in-depth and fast-paced. From what I understand, more people drop the PN program than RN due to the time it consumes and potential stress it brings. That being said, if anyone has to go the PN track instead of Generic RN for whatever reason, those students who can successfully navigate the program can actually graduate the same semester as the those who got into the RN Generic program since the Bridge picks up in time (so no delays or let downs, please!). I completed the first year of the RN program in Dade City and LOVED IT! Those ladies have been there for over 10 years each and KNOW their stuff. Good facilities too. I did complete all my prereqs on West, so I did feel a little out-of-the-water at first on East, but wouldn't have done it differently. A lot camaraderie. It'll be your second family, no doubt. Good luck and prayers on the letters!

Hi Barton!! I see you!! (It's me, Christina!!!)
My take? My friend got into LPN last fall as an alternate. I got in and declined, hoping for RN admittance. Didn't get it. But I did get in this past spring and just finished my first sem. Had a blast!! Now, my friend got into the LPN program will have her license shortly and will be bridging over and will actually have her RN a semester ahead of me. So truly, either way will get you to the same destination, as it turns out, in the same amount of time.
Oh and we started getting responses back about 2 weeks after the turn in deadline. They are fast!! Best of luck!

Hello everyone I am too waiting anxiously for my letter and applied to both PN and RN and like most completed all of my core as well as prereq courses just need two more classes and can actually apply for AA degree but taking classes so hopefull one day I can apply to the USF RN to MSN fast track...I know how you all feel I have permanent butterflies everyday waiting I dont care which one I get accepted to PN or RN im ready to start my nursing now!!! lol..lol I am so glad you guys started this forum Ive been looking everyday and Viola!! I wish all of you much sucess on this crazy wait and journey
I really think you got in no problem I see you submitted the TEAS 4 score too lol..but judging from your overall you are going to get in so early Congrats
I am so glad there are some people out there!!! I am what you would call a "career student"..lol I have my A.A. and was pursuing my B.S., but then due to life circumstances changed my major suddenly and that is what brought me to the LPN/RN program. I have finished all my Pre-reqs and have only micro to take as far as co-reqs go. I have a 3.8 (B in psychology taken at SPC several years ago) and I got a 80% on the TEAS. I battled retaking the TEAS over and over again, but after much debate decided that what's meant to be was meant to be. The stressfulness of dealing with getting in was literally eating at me, so I decided to just apply with what I had and roll the dice:) I am saying a prayer everyday for myself! I keep checking the mailbox everyday in hopes of getting any news...I am pretty much stalking my mailman or lady. Good luck to everyone out there and PLEASE lets try to keep this thread going!
So that gives you an overall rank score of 87.42% to get in the RN program. If your TEAS score is exactly an 80 the scores have to be exact to figure it out otherwise there off a bit lol..lol..
