  1. JackieK....I work at a hospital as well and they are accepting my documentation of my immunizations and all as well. I did not question the drug screening so I am not able to answer that one. Good Luck!
  2. What's up boys and girls? How is everything going for everyone? I went to the campus yesterday evening and they were having a nursing ceremony/pinning. White uniforms everywhere I looked. So exciting!! I had to sit and think about what it will be like when we all reach that point. WOW! My daughter was with me and she was even commenting on what a mess I will be at that point. lol Hope all is well. Blessings!
  3. God Bless you guys and gals for sharing your ideas of how we can all save money. The economy is bad but this stuff is priority. I got two immunizations today and my PPD. I was able to have them done for free through the hospital. God Bless!! I also have a yearly physical that I am past due for which will only cost me a $20 co-pay. Everyday is one day closer guys!! Exciting!!
  4. Rickie40.....O.K. so, I got a phone call this A.M. while at work from the West campus. It was the lady whom was not to be due back from vacation until next Tuesday. Anyways, she said that she had no idea where the "crack" was in the system and that she has it all taken care of. She faxed me the confirmation for acceptance to the program and I faxed it right back to her. (like 3 times) lol Anyways, she notified me that I got accepted for day/Brooksville as well. With my schedule, kids and all; night classes work out sooo much better. I have to get my immunizations tomorrow and my physical is on Tuesday. I work at Florida Hospital so they will do some of my immunizations for free. I am definately going to the health department for the remainder of them. A fellow student/employee also told me that some health departments have to order the injections and do not keep them in stock. She had to go to ZHills for some immunizations and Dade City for the others. I am trying to learn more about this so I can get/share phone numbers, etc.
  5. Hey! Did everyone in the LPN classes get their acceptance response in to the NPR campus by close of college this evening? The first acceptance letter that I got stated nothing about this and only spoke of the orientation. I got a letter TODAY in the mail stating that I had to respond to the NPR Campus of my acceptance on 07/06/2011 (TODAY)?! I was so aggrivated! My husband called me at work in a panic. Once I left work I had to run over to NPR in a rush. Made it there at 4:55 only to have them address me that they do not have me in their system as being in the LPN program? CRAZY!! I don't know what is going on. The lady that I need to speak with is on vacation until Tuesday and noone has answers as to what is going on. Has everyone called to verify that they are definately IN the program? Everyone else get this letter? I am going CRAZY! She said that it could be a simple glitch in the system. Leave it to me to have a glitch. I told the lady behind the counter that she is dealing with my dream in her hand and all I want is some answers.
  6. Allright Guys and Girls. I have created a Facebook page for us all to converse on. You can Search first name :PHCC LPN and last name: NPR Campus. The profile picture is a nursing cap and stethescope. I thought that it would be much easier to communicate this way and we can have a chance to see each other and put a face with the name. EXCITING!! PLEASE-Go check it out!! I am so excited to see you all on there.
  7. Thanks Tink and Chris.
  8. What? My letter states that it is the 3rd as well. I guess I will go to the compus and ask some questions?!
  9. tinkkey04.......LOVE the facebook idea. Yes, I have children. 4 of them. I do work full-time as well as part-time. I will have to give up the part-time job once I start school but am even worried about maintaining full-time employment with school. Gtg, kids have sparklers and I am sitting on here chatting?!. lol
  10. Girls, Girls, Girls! Make sure that you have your stock in white underwear. lol I have all of my needed information ready, I ordered my hemostat, scissors and penlight online lastnight. The uniform is what I am dreading more than anything-old school. Heck, if that is the worst of it, we'll have it made. I just hope that I am not the one that comes to school with white pants and neon polka-dot underwear. lol I am so excited and happy for my fellow classmates. We did it!!!
  11. Rickie 40....Omg! Between you and I, these people are doomed! lol First off, I live in Dade City. Not that far from ya! Secondly, I am in the night/weekend NPR classes. Bridging over? Of course!! I won't stop until I get my BSN. That is where the money is and what most require.
  12. Rickie40...I hope that we get together on homework, study group, etc. because I am finished with everything other than the physical as well. lol I had my BLS/CPR already (which is required from my place of employment) so that atleast knocked that out of the way. Whew!! I put everything in a binder and protective covers so that I do not turn them in looking all wrinkly and dismantled. lol Is this that we are OCD or determined is my next question?!. lmbo I have not had the opportunity to call around about the physical but will post later what I do hear once I do so.
  13. I got my letter/packet yesterday. I am a shoe in for the LPN/Night-Weekend NPR classes but an alternate for the North Campus Day program. I work at the hospital and am able to be flexible with my schedule but am so worried about managing work/school. I was in the RN program at Keiser University last semester but dropped out in hopes that I could actually end a career with less debt than what I would if I were to attend a Community College. Prior to Keiser, I spent a year and a half working on my RN program pre-rec's at PHCC. I am used to managing work, home, school and family but I think the pressures of knowing I am getting even closer to my dream is amazing. And-I am not going to finish school with a HUGE debt as what I would have at Keiser!! Yay! Anyways, now I am left to searching for my immunization record from 36 years ago?!. (I just told my age) lol I am going to bridge over and continue until I get my BSN. May go further than that, who knows!? For now, I shall take it a day at a time until our first class and kick butt from there on out! I am so proud of each and every other one of you that have made it and am so looking forward to having study groups. If you were amoungst those whom did not make it, HANG IN THERE!! This was my second time applying and here I am !!! Do not give up on your dreams.
  14. Whew! It's official. I got my letter in the mail today along with the enrollment packet. I can't wait!! I was at work and my husband held it from me all day. My kids were excited to know that they were not on call to respond once they heard the mail jeep. lol I am in the LPN evening/weekend class. I reviewed my packet and have already been searching for my shot record, etc. I am required by my employer to have my BLS so that is atleast one less thing to worry about. I am so excited to stay connected and meet you all during our orientation. We are amoungst the lucky few. Congrats to my fellow classmates! We are now one step closer to our dreams.
  15. I have NO arch to my foot and found that my shoes were causing me more and more pain. Starting at my feet and going to my knees and hips. I am still young and was very uncomfortable mentally and physically knowing that I was having this pain at my age! lol Anyways, I am wearing out my first pair of ASICS. I have tried New Balance and Nike whom I spoke with my Podiatrist about and he said that those two brands specifically are made for a natural arch. I had tried insoles and everything and found nothing to work. This is the first pair of ASICS that I have owned and I love them. I use them to walk as well as on my feet at work. They are fabulous!! Give them a try. Girls at work also wear the Allegria alot but I have heard mixed comments from flat footed people as us! I thought that before investing that much into a pair of shoes, I will go with some sneakers. :)
