PHCC Fall 2011 RN/LPN ROLL CALL!!!!!!

Published

Hello everyone!! I would like to start a thread for the 2011 Fall semester RN & LPN applicants! I applied to both and with the deadline to turn in the application tomorrow, I am already super anxious. :eek: I figured this would be a great way to check in with each other and hopefully meet our fellow classmates!!!!!!!!!!

:yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah:

lol, I rounded:) But how did you figure the 87.42%?

It's simple you take 50% Teas Score 45% GPA and 5% residency and Viola! your ranking score...but remember your score can easily fall within the range of the 48 applicants for this upcoming admittance it all depends on where the highest rank starts and how many in each rank above that your's may be the higest starting rank it all depends on others scores. :) I actually already took the liberty of scoring your GPA accurately but your Teas is the only number I took as the rounded version

Thanks Rickie40 for the info, I'm trying to not stress, but not knowing where I will actually be in August is making me nervous!

OMG i just typed a whole message and it deleted lol..lol :banghead: I know how you feel believe me I know every day all I think about is my future postion at PHCC this August.. Im praying hard that I get in either one of the programs Ive never felt so ready in my life to begin gaining my nursing credits. I hope to one day be a DNP and am taking classes for that but I want to get in the acutal nursing credit part already..Just taking my CPR class last week made me excited that's how ready I am lol..lol

Tinker your number is 04 mine is 40 lol..lol that's weird ...I hope we both come back on here soon and congratulate each other and then get ready to attend class together♥♥

DNPis right where I would like to end up as well, just seems so far away! I hear you about how ready you are to start the program, me too! I just feel like time is ticking away and its hard not to get bummed out thinking of all the possible outcomes. Well, today marks exactly one week since the deadline application! I consider that a small milestone:) I'm hoping within the next week and a half we recieve some kind of communication from the program, though that may be a little too optimistic. Has anyone recieved any letters of confirmation actually stating that they recieved your application and documents? Just curious? From looking at other threads from previous years, it looks like people did?

I did weeks ago but I put my app in on May 31st so I wasnt suprised it was like a week later ..I had a dream last nite I got a letter from PHCC and was ready to vomitt and then my husband opened it and it wasnt about the programs lol..lol..Im dreaming about this stuff now lol..I need to take it down a few notches lol..:yeah::eek:

I really think you got in no problem I see you submitted the TEAS 4 score too lol..but judging from your overall you are going to get in so early Congrats

What do you mean by TEAS 4 score? I only took the TEAS one time in April. I didn't figure I would get any higher, so it's this one or nothing. Most people I asked that were willing to disclose their scores were about the same or lower 80s, mid-upper 70s, so I figured I was in the "safe zone". But we'll all know in a few weeks...:up:

There are two Teas a Teas 4 and a Teas 5 last year they gave the Teas 4 This year the Teas 5 I know that the Teas 5 is a much more difficult exam when compared to the Teas 4 and the 90% on the Teas 5 gives you a 79 as a composite score ...and an 85 is the 90% for the Teas 4 lol..but like I said I would be extremly shocked if you dont get in and Im assuming you have residency?? with a 4.0 gpa and a 85 teas and residency your rank percent is 92.50% which is a sure win lol..depending on how many applicants applyed and what their TEAS Scores are and from what Ive heard from others is not that high:yeah::redbeathe

I took the Teas 5 and it was extrememly difficult! I bought the ATI study guide from PHCC last October. When I was done taking the test the proctor went over my test scores with me and asked me if i had the current version of the study guide which come to find out I DID NOT! I was so discouraged. I had enough time to take it again, but like I said, I was so sick of stressing out and figured I would just submit what I had..crazy...possibly!

Tinker your not the only one who found it difficult alot of people in general not just PHCC did and they didnt meet minimum requirements for the app Im hoping that will be our saving grace that not alot of people applyed because they didnt anticipate the difficulty of the exam and did not meet minimum to apply and we will all get in lol..lol I took the TEAS 5 and scored better on that than the TEas 4...I actually got a 100 on the Human Body section...but the whole descision comes down to who applyed..how many applied at least this go around there are 48 openings so if there are 400 applicants we all fall within the 12% range if there are 400 Im hoping only 300 applyed...If anybody finds out how many applicants there where I would love to know and refigure my calcualtions lol..lol

I applied to the RN program the last two semesters in a row and got picked as an alternate both times. I have a 3.4 pre-req GPA and an 86.5 on the TEAS (94th percentile). No one knows how many alternates they pick, and I never got called cuz someone dropped out. From talking to a professor,she thinks it's all about who you know. Get in good with the science teachers cuz it's pretty much picked based on favortism from what i hear. I applied to both the RN & LPN this semester so i'll just have to bridge if i dont get in the RN. This semester they made it mandatory that you have to pass each section of the TEAS with a certain score. It used to just go off your composite score. But now, even if you have an 88 composite, but don't pass the science you CANT EVEN APPLY with that score. So, that may end up helping. I'm in microbiology now, and its a seriously tough class. I took the teas 3 times and it got harder and i did worse each time i took it! The LPN letters are supposed to go out first week of July and the RN letters usually follow that by a few days or a week.
