Hello all,
I'm applying for the Fall of 09 PHCC nursing program. I have a 3.923 gpa and still need to take the NET.
Will anyone from the spring let us know what there NET score was and how long you have been waitng to get into the program. When do we submit our applications? I have not been able to get an appointment with a counselor.
thanks in advance,

No biggie...I just didn't want to go back and forth. Its me not you.. LOL My brain is fried. I'm taking micro biology this summer and its a killer. I wish they had the RN at the north campus also. Do you have an idea about how many applicants. Another 24 would help. You would think the more students the more money.
I have no idea how many applicants. As for the concept more students = more money...you would think so. But my understanding is that the school gets funded (in addition to its tuition/fees) through outside agencies (area hospitals, organizations, etc.). The tuition of the students is not enough to cover the nursing program so they greatly depend upon endowement funds. These funds are limited; therefore, the amount of nursing students is limited.
In short, we are in serious competition because the program is good and the cost is inexpensive. Those who choose to pay higher tuitions at other area schools (and throughout the country for that matter) are paying their own way vs. being at the mercy of endowement monies.
I was talking to a graduated nursing students and they said that the prereq Gpa and Net carry equal weight. That doesnt seem very fair. 13 credit hours of atleast a half semesters worth of multiple exams and a boat load of study hours is equal to a 2.5 hour test. Anyways I thought I'd pass on the gossip but the source seemed pretty sure.

For the RN applicants- have any of you received a letter from PHCC confirming that you're application has been received by the admissions office and is complete? I know they have sent similar letters for the LPN programs already.
If not, I think it'll be a pretty good indicator as to whether they have gotten to sorting through applications yet...
Hey,Yes, I recieved my RN letter last week sometime. but I still dont have my LPN letter from west campus.

Really? Interesting. I applied to both LPN programs (west & north campuses) and have received both already. My west campus letter is dated May 28th, and the north campus is dated June 9th. I'm still waiting on my RN letter. I'm beginning to get nervous because I have all my letters except that one. I'm hoping to get it this week so I can ease my mind a little!
Yep, really. My RN letter is Dated June 10 and my North campus LPN is dated June 9 but I got them about a week apart. So I'm wondering where is the West LPN letter?
Last year they started recieving acceptance letters by now. I guess they just havn't finished sending out the rest of the letters. I'm going to call tomorrow.
Good luck
Has anyone heard if they sent out the acceptance letters?
I haven't heard anything new since I received the response (via email) from PHCC regarding that same question. I was informed the letters should be mailed the first or second week of July. These "other" letters that have been sent out are referring to PHCC's acknowledgement of receiving the student's application (and all other necessary documents). This letter is the prelude to the acceptance/denial letter.
Hope this helps to clarify.
That's weird people are just now receiving the application letters. I received mine two days after I turned mine in and that was the end of April. I am getting so anxious for the acceptance letters I've been waiting outside in the 100 degree weather each day for the mailman, hoping he'll have it.
On a side note, I haven't gotten my CPR certification because I've been waiting for the letters. I've decided I should just go ahead and do it now. Where did you guys go to be certified and how much did it cost?

Okay, but why didnt you just ask those type of questions here. So everything is together on the same thread.Instead of scattering.
Anyways isnt it 24 students per campus? I hope its just not 24 for both.AArrgghh
