Hello all,
I'm applying for the Fall of 09 PHCC nursing program. I have a 3.923 gpa and still need to take the NET.
Will anyone from the spring let us know what there NET score was and how long you have been waitng to get into the program. When do we submit our applications? I have not been able to get an appointment with a counselor.
thanks in advance,
riverratt
Shep626, yes - just do the online background check and make a few copies to bring with you. The time consuming part was getting into the doctor to get the physical and the bloodwork. A PHCC student actually took my bloodwork - I thought that was funny - they were doing their clinicals at florida medical clinic on Bruce b downs. Are you going to be in the evening class? Did you already take the CPR course? Good luck and see you Tuesday!
thanks, 3girlsmom.. I am doing days on North Campus. I rejected my seat for the evening program because I teach night classes at a for-profit college in Tampa. Part of my curriculum is basic math skills and pharmacology math (dosage calcs, IV drip rates, alligations, concentration/dilutions). So, if anyone needs help with math, I'm your girl! :)
I already took the CPR course in December. I was chosen as an alternate for the RN program in January and decided to take the CPR course just incase they called me in (which they never did). If I had to make a recommendation, I would say take it at PHCC. My course was 2 nights, from 6pm-9pm. The first night we did the hands-on stuff, then the second day, we took a test and left. (I was in and out in 30 mins) Really easy, my class had a few nursing students who needed their card before their orientation, and they were able to pull some strings to have it to them by then.
I guess I'll see you at orientation.. I'll be the one with all my hair ripped out..! :)

I'm not hopeful. I called yesterday and was told that all alternates were notified. I was confused b/c my scores were reading 73 math 93 and composite 83. She told me reading was 55%, math 30%, composite 10% and residency 5%. Oh well, the only thing I can do is retake the NET with the hopes of a higher score and reapply in January. It's a little discouraging to know I missed it by what appears to be less than 1 point. As the old saying goes, everything happens for a reason. Good luck to all of you, I am sure you will be successful in the program and you deserve it.
