PHCC Fall 09 nursing school hopefuls

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hello all,

I'm applying for the Fall of 09 PHCC nursing program. I have a 3.923 gpa and still need to take the NET.

Will anyone from the spring let us know what there NET score was and how long you have been waitng to get into the program. When do we submit our applications? I have not been able to get an appointment with a counselor.

thanks in advance,

riverratt

4940.34 including books and lab fees plus $500+ for uniforms, cap shoes, lab coat, name pins, patches, supplies.

my net scores were 97 math, 70 reading, 85 written expression and I was only chosen for evening and an alternate for day. I am a Pasco Resident. I found out (too late) in this package that there are sponsorship programs at hospitals in the area but Coomunity hosp of NPR is filled (she said you have to call as soon as you get the acceptance letter...nice to know a little late) and Oak Hill now only does sponsorships for RN or Bridge to RN programs, and Springhill and Brooksville regional only offers it for RN program.

Thanks so much for your info. It leaves me very hopeful as an alt for the evening program b/c I am only one point behind you and a Pasco resident. Based upon what I was told how the decision process was made I would think I would be high on the alt list. One more question, is the 4940.4 due all at once or in increments. Sorry to ask so many things but I would like to try to get things in order in case I do get a call. You have really made my day a little better. I figure alt wouldn't be notified until after 7/27 so hopefully next week I will get a call.:lol2::yeah:

Are you kidding me Community sponsorship is full? I went to community the FIRST day I recieved my acceptance letter and the lady said to just do the application online. I havent been called or anything. Bah that makes me so mad I was really hoping to get that sponsorship.

I would call though - maybe they haven't notified you yet. I spoke with Deborah Cicci, Human Resources for Nursing at 727-845-9117 - same contact that came in the packet of info

I'm not sure - hopefully they will just require the first term's payment (which is the most out of all terms) it was 2447.50 including lab fees and books and lab kits. I will keep you posted as I get more information. Hang in there - you are probably high on the alternate list I'm sure.

Has anyone (who was an alternate) received notification from PHCC that there is an opening?

Hey Kee-

I'm not an alternate, but I did reject my acceptance to the eve/weekend program. I decided to go with the day program since it was more accommodating to my work schedule. On the LPN letters it said we had to confirm our acceptance by July 27th. (It actually had two contradicting dates on it: one said the 27th, the other the 23rd). So I would imagine that if PHCC hasn't already notified any alternates, they would notify them on or after that date (the 27th).

Probably not what you wanted to hear.. but at least its something?

Shep626,

What were your NET scores? I'm trying to see where I might be on the alternate list since the deadline was monday.

riverratt,

Did you get into the LPN evening? What was your NET scores?

Keebnblondie - you sent me a private message but for some reason I couldn't respond - my composite was an 84. We are so close in numbers! I'm sure they will be calling you soon as an alternate. There was another paper that went out that is due by tomorrow that asked again if we were: coming to orientation, couldn't come but still wanted to attend, or we could not attend the program - three choices. I would guess that you may hear something next week for sure.

Keeb,

I withdrew from the LPN programs. My composite was a 93

Hope you get my spot.

3girlsmom- have you done your background check yet? I JUST got my orientation packet TODAY. So I have less than a week to get everything done by tuesday.. talk about ridiculous!? I know we can go online and purchase it through the fdle website, but is that it? or do we have to send it in and wait 5 business days? i am so stresssssed!!!

Shep626, yes - just do the online background check and make a few copies to bring with you. The time consuming part was getting into the doctor to get the physical and the bloodwork. A PHCC student actually took my bloodwork - I thought that was funny - they were doing their clinicals at florida medical clinic on Bruce b downs. Are you going to be in the evening class? Did you already take the CPR course? Good luck and see you Tuesday!
