Hi all :)
I decided to start a new thread since the last one has something like 275 comments. It's a tad overwhelming!
Any questions, concerns, comments, etc regarding Pasco-Hernando Community College's programs? This is your thread:nurse:
We have decided on a meeting time and place. Here are the details:
When: Saturday evening, July 17, 7pm til whenever.
Where: Brass Tap in Wiregrass
Why: Faces to usernames :) lol--Seriously, won't it be great to meet the people who have been stressing out with us for the past several months?
If you have questions about the plan, feel free to pm me :) Also, if anyone has any brilliant ideas on how to recognize one another, feel free to share!

Ugh, 6 months of income. I am not really legally divorced yet, I wonder if my marital settlement agreement that has not been signed off on yet will work or a notarized letter from my atty, perhaps. I really need to call and talk to someone, I guess. I am definitely poor enough. More than poor enough. Income is quite insufficient. Yep, I'm broke :) lol
Great information, ladies! Thank you.
I am going to the Spring Hill Orientation on the 3rd so I would be leaving straight from Nursing Orientation to speed up to Spring Hill! I hope I qualify, my hours are getting cut to 8 hours a week, so I think I should... Let's hope! Congrats on finishing Micro, Yaz. I'm sure you're excited for this short rest before we have to dive back in again!
Is anyone else applying for any hospital sponsorships?

Okay, so you know there is an orientation on the 3rd? Is this an orientation for Career Central or at Bayonet Point? Sorry to be daft :)
I need to do something for money.
Hey does anyone know where to find the ebooks online? Are they the same as the textbooks just in ebook form, or are they only available in the bookstore? I can't find them anywhere![/quote']Someone posted something (so specific, I know! Sorry) about seeing links on the evolve website and being able to purchase them for 59.95 each, I think. Perhaps I'm crazy...or confused. But I can't for the life of me figure out how to get to what was described, so clarification is much appreciated :)
I keep trying to call the bookstores for clarification (East has no idea what I'm talking about and West is busy). I will post as soon as I know something. And the orientation on the 3rd is for whatever the number you guys posted for the Spring Hill office. Career Central so I'm assuming it's the WIA thing right? The number I called was (352) 200-3020 ext: 3076 and the lady signed me up for the 3rd @ 2pm.
I called the bookstore and had to leave a message with the textbook manager because no one seems to know what is going on.

Yes, Career Central = WIA (Workforce Investment Act) program.
Also, here's something from another thread r/t textbooks
"Starting July 1st, (so it's in effect now):
"In addition to the textbook price, universities must also provide the International Standard Book Number (ISBN) at the time of class registration. If the ISBN is not available, the book's title, author, publisher and copyright date must then be disclosed.
According to Section 133 of the HEOA, the purpose of these textbook provisions is to guarantee students have affordable class materials where prices for books, and options for discounts, are clearly spelled out."
Call the school and say to them according to the law that is in effect as of July 1, the Higher Education Opportunity Act REQUIRES the school to provide ISBN, book title, author, publisher and copyright date. Get a copy of the law and bring it to school. If that doesn't work talk to the manager of the bookstore since they have to know that it is now ILLEGAL for them to not provide this information."
And here's the fact sheet:

Just got off the phone with the bookstore and they are selling the first 9 books on the list as a bundle for $404. The ebooks are just ebook versions of the texts. I'm wondering if we even really need the ebook or if it's for the sake of convenience. If the ebook is not required (I wouldn't want to drain my phone's battery reading off of it all day anyway), I'm looking at those first 9 books at being less than $300. Thanks, but no thanks, bookstore. Let's hope we don't need those ebooks. As for the rest of the books, they are each under $30 so that's not too terrible.
