PHCC Fall 2010 (LPN/BRIDGE/RN)

Published

Hi all :)

I decided to start a new thread since the last one has something like 275 comments. It's a tad overwhelming!

Any questions, concerns, comments, etc regarding Pasco-Hernando Community College's programs? This is your thread:nurse:

We have decided on a meeting time and place. Here are the details:

When: Saturday evening, July 17, 7pm til whenever.

Where: Brass Tap in Wiregrass

Why: Faces to usernames :) lol--Seriously, won't it be great to meet the people who have been stressing out with us for the past several months?

If you have questions about the plan, feel free to pm me :) Also, if anyone has any brilliant ideas on how to recognize one another, feel free to share!

RN-to-be...

I got my tetorifice shot on Monday and I now have a bad fever and am so sore :( Had to call out of work today... I still need to get my physical done but I will do that this weekend at a Doctors Walk In Clinic for $20. Probably better to get a health physical when I'm not burning up, right?[/quote']

Oh no! I hope you feel better soon. My arm was sooooo sore for like 5 days. They said it's very common with tetorifice shots, thankfully we only need them every ten years.

Alicia, you're welcome! I know that paper with Important was misleading lol, someone said that paper was probably from last year.

Anyone hear back from WIA regarding the Bayonet Point interviews? I haven't heard back from anyone yet and it's making me nervous.

Nope, me either. But when we were there last week, they said we'd hear back on Thursday. So, let's see what tomorrow (Thursday) brings! Fingers crossed!

I am in Miami right now and I had to overnight my Response Form accepting the spot for the RN program that opened up. The Nursing dept also sent me the information packet to where I'm staying which was great. I faxed the Orientation Response Form today. I called them right away and apparently they are giving me a little bit more time to get all this stuff done since I just got my "letter" on the 23rd. Even so, I still have to get all my ducks in a row!!!

So this is where I'm at: I ordered my background tonight.

Doing my physical at Doctors Walk In

Getting my bloodwork/shots at the health dept.

Approx how much will it cost for the titers bloodwork & shots?

Also, what about the Course Manual???

I know this is a long shot but does anyone have the sheet from the packet "Statement and Dislosure of Criminal Convictions" I apparently was not reading it when I signed both yes and no.

OCD impatient me already have an answer......I email someone at the nursing dept and I can pick up and fill out a new one at orientation.

Waiting for background to finish only one last part to finish, then PPD tonight and reading of PPD on Sat and I am done

Car getting it's new engine today!!! Half day tomorrow at work and I can breathe Sat while my girls are driving Grandma up the wall. :D That's what happens when the Mother's curse "May you have two just like you" backfires

Also, what about the Course Manual???

Course manual available at the book store (but not yet...lol). I have no idea re: the rest of your questions! Sorry :(

DivaMommy,

I had my bloodwork done at Pasco County Health Department in New Port Richey and for the MMR & Varicella Titers and the TB test, it was $60. I also started the Hep B vaccination series and the first shot was $45. You need to call for an appointment though.

Yeah I thought Thursday was what they said but wasn't sure if it was just me making it up in my head to make me less anxious. :) Anyway no one I know has heard anything yet and I called Sheila a little while ago and she said she hasn't received the list from Bayonet Point yet and HR will be the ones to contact us. She also said alot of us have called her today asking what's going on and she has no idea. Maybe tomorrow? This feels like waiting for those acceptance letters all over again.

Thank God you posted Yaz! I was starting to feel anxious too but didn't want to do a public freak-out after being all calm & cool yesterday (but today, I am freaking out!).

And yes, it does feel the same...and I don't like it one bit!! I'm beginning to think this is just getting us prepared for the anxiety that is - Nursing school. I'm going to have to buy stock in whoever makes Tums or Rolaids!!

Seriously...thanks for posting the update!!

Scrapworking, you're welcome! Trust me I was by my phone all day and freaking out everytime it rang lol! Please post as soon as they call you with an update, I'll do the same. I'm definitely going to be stressed out for the next two years it seems. :uhoh3:

Will do! I kept picking up my cell, which didn't ring much all today, to make sure it was actually ON!! :jester:

You won't be alone, that's for sure!!

Thanks Melissa! That doesn't sound too bad. The last thing I have to schedule is my CPR. I am going for my shots/physical on Monday & show I got that process started (even though I was an alternate).

I wonder how many alternates got that much awaited letter!?

Thank you everyone for all your patience with "the new girl" and being so helpful. I really appreciate it and look forward to meeting all of you!!

See you Tuesday :)
