PHCC Fall 2010 (LPN/BRIDGE/RN)

Published

Hi all :)

I decided to start a new thread since the last one has something like 275 comments. It's a tad overwhelming!

Any questions, concerns, comments, etc regarding Pasco-Hernando Community College's programs? This is your thread:nurse:

We have decided on a meeting time and place. Here are the details:

When: Saturday evening, July 17, 7pm til whenever.

Where: Brass Tap in Wiregrass

Why: Faces to usernames :) lol--Seriously, won't it be great to meet the people who have been stressing out with us for the past several months?

If you have questions about the plan, feel free to pm me :) Also, if anyone has any brilliant ideas on how to recognize one another, feel free to share!

Jenn

RN-to-be...

Oh I don't believe mine was $100 it was like $70 something, but that was last Fall though...

Thank you Sam! You're the best. No ebooks for me :)

If anyone is having trouble finding a CPR class, there is a place in Holiday called Dondero Ent (727-375-1111) that offers classes every Saturday morning at 9:00 for $30 (cash only)

FYI...In regards to ordering "bundles" off amazon.com...I found an even better package!! It includes the Fundamentals Text, Study Guide, and Mosby's DVD 3.0. All for $149.06. The only question is is the textbook ISBN the same as the one we are supposed to have? Jenn verified the package with just the textbook and dvd is the same (thanks!! :)), but I don't know about this one. Looking at amazon, there are TWO versions of our textbook that were both printed in the same year. So, if anything, let's make sure we order the right text (even though I'm sure the differences are only subtle)! Here is the link: Amazon.com: Fundamentals of Nursing - Text, Study Guide, and Mosbys Nursing Video Skills - Student Version DVD 3.0 Package (9780323067911): Patricia A. Potter RN MSN PhD FAAN, Anne Griffin Perry RN EdD FAAN: Books

I saw that package, too but it made me nervous buying too many unconfirmed (isbnwise) items. Great pricing, though, right? I

If there are any fall LPN students reading this discussion, there is now a facebook goup for us. Search PHCC LPN and you should find it :)

I saw 2 different ones, Longsx3. Which one is it? Thanks for sharing :)

The FB group name is :

this might work too:

I think I am going to get that package with the 3 books for $149.06. If it's the wrong edition or anything, amazon should take it back so I don't think it's a gamble. We shall see, I suppose. Less than 2 weeks until orientation :)

It's that time again! Borders coupon but this time for 40% off! I'm going to go get my RNotes and the Medical Dictionary this weekend for about $40 with this coupon. Just gotta bring my boyfriend with me so he can use the other one :)

Thank goodness that's over :)

Yay! I did mine last night behind Oak Hill Hospital. Come to think of it, were you there scrapworking? I don't think I saw you, but maybe I did.

Nope, wasn't me. I did my CPR back in May in Spring Hill. Glad everyone's getting things checked off their to-do lists!!

Great idea with Border's & the coupon. Wish I had the money to get them now, but will probably have to do the Pell/Bookstore credit since Financial Aid funds won't be disbursed until the middle September.

Finished my 2 summer classes this week - I'm so going to relax and enjoy the next 3-4 weeks!!

Went to the interview today for Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point on their sponsorship program. It was a lot more relaxed than I think we were told, but I felt that it went really well. They told us we should have an answer back by next Thursday. I like that they're going to be Trauma II certified in 18mos-2years.
