PHCC Fall 2014 hopefuls!

Published

I want to meet some of you! I'm just getting ready to take my last 3 finals, have been studying for the TEAS for months now, and will be able to apply for next fall's nursing program (YAYAY!) I'd love to hear from some potential future classmates, how you are doing/ did with pre-reqs/ TEAS, and share the excitement upon acceptances!

It has nothing to with the campus you dropped your application (I dropped mine at spring hill but go to west campus).

If you go through the package (which you'll receive within the next 1-2 weeks) you can see which campus you're assigned to. But that is not written in stone. If you need to change the campus for any reason, you can do so at the orientation.

I'm in! I got my letter on Friday! I didn't make it for RN but I'm in for LPN! So excited!

Oh, and don't underestimate the LPN program! Many say that it is a killer tough schedule and not exactly an "easy" way to get to RN! Hard work is definitely in order for you the next year. Enjoy the journey :)

Thanks for the insight Master Nushca :) So awesome to have your expertise on this thread!! They are emailing the package this year. Not sure if that's new or not. Did they do that for your entrance semester? If so, was that really 1-2 weeks to email? Thank you so much for your insight :D

Nuscha can you please recommend white scrub pants for the uniform and shoes? Ahem..and do you suggest white or nude undies? I'll have to start buying all the supplies.

And are we allowed jackets if we get cold?

Hi Lossholly, I have also been accepted to the LPN program at the North campus, do you know what campus you will be going to?

Go to a scrub store and buy all white scrub pants. Try them on and get the ones that are comfortable. Get pocket protectors, ink will stain. Get something that helps get stains out. Get black pens, yellow highlighters and tons of them you will use them for the rest of your nursing career. Nurse mates shoes. But your school may want all white sneakers. Dansko shoes are the best for all day comfort, most nurses wear them. Your feet will thank you and they are worth the price. They are comfortable! Get an all white scrub jacket, it should be fine.

The flea market in oldsmar sells scrubs and they go for $8-$14 bucks if you have a weekend free and want cheap scrubs.

Nude panties are better, you can still see white sometimes. Get enough because you NEVER wanna be stuck with dark colored panties... Don't do thongs...

Thank you magdikarp! Very appreciated! :D

Does anyone know approximately how much the first semester of the generic RN will cost? Assuming you are just taking fundamentals of nursing and fundamentals clinical (i completed my coreqs already). I wanted to know if the price is semester per semester, or the whole whopping amount right when you begin?

Has anyone here gotten a denial for the RN program?

Thank you magdikarp! Very appreciated! :D

Check these out Jupiter:

Amazon.com: Easy Spirit Women's Punter Athletic Shoe: Shoes

Amazing reviews... Macy's has them in store to try on, but Amazon is a LOT cheaper!

Nobody has posted rejection yet, but the letters just started getting received Friday so I am sure the next week will be a busy one on postings and status updates :)

I'm not sure of the exact cost but you pay semester by semester. I think (don't quote me) that is about $1500 but what do I know :D
