PHCC Fall 2014 hopefuls!

Published

I want to meet some of you! I'm just getting ready to take my last 3 finals, have been studying for the TEAS for months now, and will be able to apply for next fall's nursing program (YAYAY!) I'd love to hear from some potential future classmates, how you are doing/ did with pre-reqs/ TEAS, and share the excitement upon acceptances!

Associate degree in nursing?

Specializes in LPN.

regular RN, ADN and generic RN are all the same!

Specializes in Cardiothoracic ICU.

I think that what is confusing people is the way they are listed on the PHSC site...Nursing (RN) ADN Transition Program―Associate in Science and Nursing (RN) Generic Program—Associate in Science. I've clicked on the transition program multiple times just because it looks so similar to the generic. ADN/Generic/RN program is people who have no nursing experience. Transition/LPN to RN is for people who are already RNs. The end result of each is both the same--it's your starting point that is different.

I will say this...NCLEX PN was easier than teas V! I was amazed that I didn't get a lot of clinical questions, a lot of leadership, priority and safety.

I agree with you. I passed the NCLEX on the first try. The teas makes me feel useless and dumb. Even with studying.

I am relieved that so far everyone who applied to the transition hasn't gotten a letter, last year the rejection letters were the last letters to get sent out. This year there aren't any paramedic spots either so I'm crossing my fingers.

I absolutely agree. I passed the NCLEX first try, 9 months after graduating but the TEAs makes me feel dumb.

I haven't received a letter either. My teas was low so I feel like I will only get in if all the seats are available. If I don't get in then Idk if I should look into other schools or wait another year to apply, which would give me less of a chance next year considering 25 spots go to paramedics.

Let's pray we all get in :)

I wish we could go on wise and tell if we.got in

Hey everyone! Just to maybe put others at ease a little, I applied for both RN and LPN so I would have a back up plan. I haven't received a letter for LPN program either, so they haven't gone out yet. I know it's agonizing! But, it would seem more likely to think Wednesday if they mail them on Monday.

Since I got a seat in RN, I will turn down the LPN seat leaving an extra one open for whoever is on the 'standby' list! So, there's one more seat for you guys :) You're all in, I can feel it!

Have a great weekend everyone!

omg im freaking out i applied for the transition program and i live in hillsborough county ... i wonder if the letter will come by july 10th!!!!!

did anyone recieve a phone call letting them know they got in? i mean it seems kinda silly to only have a few days to accept the seat and some havent even gotten their letters yet!! ahhhh

Did anyone receive acceptance or denial for generic RN/porter campus?

Did anyone receive acceptance or denial for generic RN/porter campus?

Yes, several have (AFwife, Scarlet, Gabby to name a few). But, the letters are going out in waves and several that most certainly made it in have not received their letters yet! Hang in there, another wave will start this week. Orientation isn't until August so there is plenty of time. No stress :)
