Just wanted to see who all is applying for any program in the fall.
I'm going to be applying for the generic RN and LPN program for backup.
Sorry this is gonna be a little lengthy. I used the teas study guide but supplemented that with additional resources. For instance for chemistry I watched videos on YouTube of a chemistry tutor to refresh. If you read something in the study guide that you don't quite get, then find a way to get more info on it. I like watching tutoring videos because its someone teaching you. I even used videos on YouTube that were 20 minutes long for the English section. I would sit there and take notes like I was in class and then make flashcards. There are a lot of threads on here that I read too about other people's studying tricks. Two years ago I took the teas 5 & got a 73, this year in May I took it and got an 87.3. I didn't study the first time, I bought the book, but didn't use it. This time I studied, made a plan & did practice tests. Ever since doing my nclex I find doing practice test really helpful just to get you in question/test mode.
My GPA is 4.0 and my TEAS score is 80.5. I am also out of county. The first and second time I took the TEAS I got a 70.3 and 70.1. The third time was the charm. I relaxed, didn't put so much pressure on myself and I also used TEAS Secrets, a book I ordered off the internet for about $30. I liked it a lot better than ATI's study guide.
Has anyone taken the CPR class at PHCC? Is there an online class we are supposed to take prior to the in-class portion? If so, do you know how to find it cause I have looked everywhere and can't find it and I am scheduled to take the in-class portion on Monday.
I took it at PHCC, all you need to do is show up and bring a pen.

I used the Teas V book and I also found on Groupon and deal on BenchPrep for $25 that gave you four practice tests and study questions. It helped me increase mine by 4% and would of been more if I wasn't taking 5 classes. I believe my 4.0 is what saved me. So If you don't have atleast a 3.8 or better I would make sure that you have a Teas score of at least 80.
