Physician Bullying of Nurses Reaching Epidemic Levels
In my short time precepting I experienced bullying by a doctor. It was traumatizing and when I realized I would have to deal with this doctor on a daily basis and others like him I chose not to stay at that hospital; in fact, I chose a different type of nursing all together. I was not scared to leave in-patient nursing so early in my career because I realized I am in charge of my career and there are so many choices out there. I chose not to be talked to like a piece of crap because the doctors accent was so strong that I couldn't understand him and had to ask him to please repeat what he said. I was completely respectful to him and he in turn was an a%$h@!^ to me. I was also forewarned about other doctors who treated nurses like crap. I just decided I wasn't going to put up with it! Best decision of my life:)))

PHCC Fall 2013 hopefuls
My friend who didn't get into the RN program at PHCC is applying at Rasmussen. She already had a meeting there and is taking the "placement test" and sending in her teas score. Because she has already taking several of the classes that are included in their program, she will be discounted on her tuition and she receives a discount because her brother is Active Duty military and her husband works at Sams (Walmart). She's really excited and the people there sound really nice and motivating. Wishing you all all the best!!!

PHCC Fall 2013 hopefuls
My GPA is 4.0 and my TEAS score is 80.5. I am also out of county. The first and second time I took the TEAS I got a 70.3 and 70.1. The third time was the charm. I relaxed, didn't put so much pressure on myself and I also used TEAS Secrets, a book I ordered off the internet for about $30. I liked it a lot better than ATI's study guide.

Thank you snl7 and I'm sorry you didn't get accepted. Don't give up!!! I had a back up plan in case I didn't get in. If you can, take the TEAS again if your score wasn't what you wanted. I have a friend who didn't get in and she is applying at Rasmussen. I had checked into Keiser at one point but they are way to expensive. Just don't give up!! Pick yourself up and move on to the next step. I'll be praying for you

PHCC Fall 2013 hopefuls
I'm not sure how many alternates they pick, but I got a phone call yesterday from PHCC asking if I had got my letter yet, that they had mailed it Tuesday. I said no. She said that the letter was telling me I was an alternate but she said to disregard it when I got it because someone had already turned down their spot and I was first or next on the list and she asked for a verbal acceptance and then emailed me the candidate response form that I immediately filled out and faxed back. Oh, and when I checked the mail, there was the letter lol :-) They are really on the ball at PHCC because shortly after that phone call someone else from PHCC called and signed me up for A&PII & Lab because if you haven't already taken it you have to take it the 1st semester of the program.

For the PHCC nursing program, is the county thing used as a tie breaker or do Pasco/Hernando residents get preference even if they have a lower GPA and TEAS score? Has a non-county resident ever been accepted into the program? I have a 4.0 GPA and scored 80.5 on the TEAS.

Difficulty of Science Portion
I took the TEAS V in January without really studying really hard and got a 73.3, then I studied and took it in mid April got a 72.7:((( Then I ordered teassecrets off the internet. It's broken down and easier to study then the Teas book from ATI. I just took the Teas for the third and final time and got an 80.7!!!!!! Hopefully with my 4.0 gpa I will get into the nursing program :))))
