I have been sober for 6 months and had a slip up 8/8. I had 3 glasses of wine and a shot after being sober 6 months. I got a white chip and have started over. Well I was required to take a Peth test 8/22 14 days later. Do you think this would show up? I know it says 3-4 weeks for heavy drinking, but it was one night w 6 months of prior abstinence.
PLEASE do not respond with a lecture or anything besides experience with Peth testing. I know the mistake I’ve made and am already really beating myself up

If you only had 2 shots 13 days before with no prior drinking I’m almost positive you’ll be okay. I had like 4 glasses of wine and a shot 14 days prior and wa a negative (with no drinking prior to that)

I’m sorry that happened to you. Relapse happens. (Or slip ups if that’s the preference). From my experience what’s done is done. I mean even if someone can tell you anything about their test, hight, weight, metabolism etc. it’s not really going help ease your mind. Keep focusing on the solution! I believe in you!

Oh don’t get me wrong. I’ll support you all day. I just didn’t want you obsessed with the past. You’re never alone. Most of friends in recovery I go to meetings with are not nurses. But they can still understand. I used to look up info about drug tests like crazy lol. I’m happy for you that you have that thinking with alcohol. It made things much less complicated for me haha. You know what you need to do and that’s awesome!
I think about alcohol all the time. However I know it’s simply not an option as the ramifications are simply to chilling to think about. The risk simply doesn’t come close to balancing out the threat of exploding my life. I’m (hopefully) about six months of getting out of this hades called monitoring. I simply don’t look at it as a choice. This is an unforgiving program that bears little resemblance to voluntary recovery. Good luck to you
I agree you a little choice in the program itself. For my recovery it helped having a set of rules to follow. I know it’s been a crazy journey for you and doesn’t compare to mine

I have been drinking around 1 glass of wine every day for half a year. I got an offer last Friday and we had a party to celebrate yesterday (Sunday). I had two cocktails, a glass of wine, and 1 bear. I definitely didn't expect to receive the drug test request from the employer so soon and it has to be done in 2 days (Wednesday 5pm). It is a urine test, I don't know what substance they will test, but the description of the test is "FM-590PP Non-DOT Urine". Is anyone familiar with this name? Does this include an alcohol test?
I am so worried about this test now, do you think I will get a positive result for alcohol?

So most pre-employment screen won’t test for alcohol. You might want to look up what they are testing. Alcohol won’t stay longer for 24 hrs. Unless it’s also a ETG test. But I don’t think would do that
